Will I get banned from high refund rate on amazon?
 

My refund rate is 5%. Do they ban you for high refund rate? (i'm not talking about cancellation rate) if so how high will cause concern?

Wow... Yes, it is just a matter of how long it will take. 5% is in the high range.

Why are the refund rates so high? Is there anything you can do to lower them? One thing I have used over the years is to offer the customer a partial refund if they want to keep the item. For example, if someone bought a book from me in "like new" condition, but claimed it was only in "very good" condition, I would apologize and offer (whatever percentage might be appropriate) as a discount. Many people will agree to this.

High refund rates don't get you banned. However, the repercussions from a high refund rate will get you banned (A-Z Claims and Negatives).

If you can manage your customers that want to return for a refund and keep them from opening claims and leaving negatives, then Amazon won't give a rats ass about your refund rate.

Source: I know someone who operates at a 30%+ refund rate successfully without any claims or negatives. Also, its not against Amazon polices to have a high refund rate.

Yes your account will go on review and if the rate stays so high they will close you. What are your metrics showing? Refunds show to amazon that your customers are unhappy with your product and amazon don't want unhappy customers.

I'm not saying this is impossible, because I have seen people who have a 60% positive feedback rating on Amazon happily selling away... but I can only tell you that I have received warning from Amazon when my refund rate went over 3%. My refund rate is always around 5% - never had a problem or warning from AZ. It depends on what you sell. If you sell high tech electronics that buyers can't figure out how to use, or something like clothes, then your refund rate is going to be higher than somebody selling pencils and tape.

as long as you keep the buyer happy, the refund rate can be high. its neg feedbacks and a-z claims that will kill your account
