Amazon Selling?

I have been a Ebay seller for 6 years now. I am thinking of trying to sell on amazon but I heard the fees are higher and that its harder to sell things there. Is this true or have I heard wrong?

I personally love amazon, not having to make a listing with pictures and all of that is superb.

Fees vary depending on what you sell but a lot of ppl also fail to include paypal 3% fee in the fee calculations.

On amazon is all about the buy box for new and lowest price for used to get your stuff sell fast.

I think I want to jump on Amazon as well. I have not had any real luck but I hope I can list enough items to start to see profit. Any tips would be great....thanks in advance

One thing I dislike about Amazon is that your item is somewhat a commodity and other than lowest price and good service not much you can do to make your listings pop or stand out from the others.

Yes and No.

Technically Amazon requires a UPC / EAN to be eligible to be listed in their online Catalog (what they call the website).

However, people to have a Pro Subscription can create their own items in the Catalog, and not enter a correct UPC.

This will work for a short period of time, however once Amazon catches on they will either issue a policy warning for listing without the proper UPC, or even suspend your account if they suspect more than just a mislisting.

Amazon is great, more tricks to do. Cheapest item doesn't always sell

I think I saw a notice a few days ago that Amazon is going to crack down harder on bad UPC.

Different platform - different approach - explore it well OP - Amazon Ghost guide is good for that.

It depends on what items you sell. Unique items are better on eBay. Also it is impossible to turn a profit for items under $5 on Amazon.

Amazon is great, fantastic sales and my profits are usually always higher than ebay.

Issue, Amazon are total gits and will pretty much **** you at the first inclination they get. Stealth is harder to master with Amazon and unlike ebay really have a low tolerance for even the smallest demeanour.

Another thing I love about Amazon is their fee. They take their fee on the spot and you see how much you will get paid and not worry about monthly fee due date. And I don't want to see a big amount of money being pay to eBay every 30 days

I also like Amazon, but I don't like the fact that they limit you to 50 transactions before going through the tax interview.

I would also add that, on the whole, the quality of Amazon CS reps is much better than eBay. Usually can get thru to AZ in a couple minutes - eBay sometimes takes a couple hours. Amazon is just more polished than eBay. Where sometimes you get the feeling eBay is being run by a bunch of third-grade kids complete with lies and deception.

When is the last time you contact eBay and wait for couple hours?????

Had to be about a year ago. That's when I decided I had enough ebay bull**** and stopped selling on there. Every little problem was eating up huge chunks of my time - it just wasn't worth it along with the aggravation. Most times I would wait on phone forever and finally get a rep but then I couldn't understand them and they couldn't help - useless - just a waste of time. Frustration level was through the roof. Even when you get lucky and reach a U.S. call center the reps would often flat out tell lies either because they were trained that way or just want to get rid of you.

Then you need to try again. I don't like eBay but I never have to wait for more five minutes to get the rep on the phone. Even the rep not from U.S but they all helpful and answer/solve all my questions

That sounds better than used to be. Maybe I will give it a try again. I have a couple stealths just aging that I never used. Would be good to get rid of some junk that won't sell on AZ. Thanks.
