Default Another scammer

So today I get a negative feedback from a scammer who claims I sent him an empty box - he never contacted me beforehand. It has signature confirmation but of course that only proves he received a package.

AZ will probably force me to refund him. Honestly I am more concerned about the negative pushing the ODR over 1% than the cost of refunding the item. Any thoughts how to handle this situation? Thanks.

I had this happen before if the post office weighed your package before it was shipped and it is weighed again when it gets to where its going you can see it there is a weight difference you would have that at least aswell to help you...it's real bad when this happens to us take it all the way my friend!!

Scammers are a part of business, try to fight it, but I always think its more important to remove the negative feedback then keep a few bucks. Try to talk to him and see if you can work something out, even if he is a scammer

Unfortunately it was sent in a Priority Flat Rate box. But thanks for the input.

Yes, I agree - especially it only takes a couple of bad feedbacks to sink an account since there isn't tons of volume. I will send him a message and see what he is about.

Was it an expensive item? Personally anything that cost or sells for over $200 I take to the post office and have them do the weight, cause even on flat rate the weight is on the receipt.

Can the weight on the shipping label count?

What you do if a scammer claimed that you sent him a brick which was weighed the same as the item you sent.? If you asked to return, of course he would return you a brick and keep the real item. If he asked for replacement, You wouldn't want to because you're afraid of the same claim.
If it was the case, I know you would rather send him a refund and keep going.

Honestly, I really hate the scammers , they think they're smart. We know they're scammers, but we pretend to be a loser. Amz system is not smart enough to catch these scammers, it only set the strictly rules for sellers. When it hit a claim no matter whom fault, AMZ is on buyers side without investigations or using human brain.

We all hate scammers, in this situation the OP said that the buyer claimed nothing in the box, therefore if he can prove that the box did weight "X" amount he might have a fighting chance. I don't sell on Amazon so I can't really speak about Amazons A-Z claims but I suppose some proof of weight can have an effect on the outcome...hopefully in the OP way.

Exactly $200. Shoot... I do go to the po for acceptance - unfortunately I didn't think to hang on to receipt - you're right the weight is on there even for flat rate. It probably would help me but I guess he could say a postal employee opened the box and stole item. I wonder if the package weight is retained in the USPS computers. I'll call the 800 number and ask.

Have you filed a claim with the post office. Flat rate does come with insurance. Let customer know that PO will investigate the claim to see if there is any fraud involved before issuing the insurance claim.

This is actually a very good idea, I completely forgot about this...throw it out there.

I wonder if the USPS insurance covers empty boxes. It could only be one of two things: either it is scammer claiming empty box or USPS employee is a thief. 99.99999% sure is scammer. Either way it could be case for postal inspector. I am waiting for answer from USPS if they keep the weight in their database. If not, I could possibly bluff and say I have receipt.

....bites the dust.

Wrote him a message saying I have a receipt that shows it weighed 2 lbs. So either he has made a mistake or the Feds will have to get involved for felony tampering with the mail.

Negative was gone today.

Thanks to everyone for the assist.

So he got scared and removed the negative out of fear of consequence.

If thats the case, I would mess with him and tell him that the feds will be contacting him at his address anyways to find out what happened.

If it was a phone you sold, tell him you plan on blocking the ESN too.

He can't leave you negative feedback anymore.
