Funds transfer and account review
 

Today got an email saying my funds have been transferred to my bank account, but about 20 minutes later Amazon puts the account under review.

I logged into the account and it says that the funds are being transferred (good thing) and my payment period has reset for another two weeks.

Will Amazon reverse the transfer that just got approved? Or will it go through even with my merchant account now under review.

if both emails are on the same day it is highly unlikely you will get the funds

Same day, about 20-30 minutes from each other. I will keep this thread updated with results.

gone through this many times and would be surprised if you get funds until review is now complete

Yeah, I have been through it a bunch, too. I normally just drop the account, but I've never logged in and seen it as "Processed" with a review.. Weird.

I have found if you get that email the next day you are ok, but anything on the same day your money is normally gone

This just happened to us 2 weeks ago. Went into review within minutes of the email stating the funds had been transferred. Our transfer went through with no issues.

If you are suspended amazon always reverse the charges up to around 2 working days after the funds have been transferred.

It is not the same for a review, at least not in my experience. Unless they are going to suspend you the funds should not be reversed just because of a review. This is the same in the uk as it is with the rest of the amazon sites.

Yeah I was worried that the funds would be tied up but they came through. It took 2 days for it to show up at my bank, but better than a month!

they can pull funds the same day only, the next day funds have left there account and there is nothing they can do

Amazon can and do reverse funds the next day and sometimes up to 3 days later.


Amazon in the uk uses the bacs payment system. Once a payment is made it will arrive in your bank no later than the next working day.

This is a legal requirement for all bacs payments. Now why do you think it takes 7 days for a bacs payment to reach your bank account, it's because amazon holds the payment and it will only go through the day before it hits your bank account. So yes, they can always reverse a payment at least 1-3 days later.

barry, I don't agree and the reason is I have had accounts closed the day after funds have been released. When I mean closed I mean totally disabled. Now if disabled the day after funds have been released then those funds still arrive to the bank. However, if funds are released and account disabled on the same day then those funds do not arrive.

Do you have experience of anything other than this with amazon ?

Yes, I've had an account transfer funds and then get suspended a 5 o'clock on a Wednesday and I got an email at 9 o'clock the following Saturday telling me the funds are to be reversed.

I'm not sure what you disagree with, a bacs payment takes one day from being sent to get to your bank account. Amazon do not send the money when they disburse it. If they did it would be with you the next working day. they hold the payment for at least 2 working days and thus it can be reversed.

I agree with the bacs payment element and time span but not with amazon processes

my experience as above says as long as account is opened the next day and then closes or goes into review funds will be sent with you

You are both wrong, BACS takes 3 working days. If a BACS payment is sent Monday it will hit your account on Wednesday. But yes amazon hold the funds for 2-3 days once payment has been notified as being sent.

hold it for a day only and most banks are part of the faster payment scheme now

I get payments sent many times a month and can confirm this 100%

The account is still active and the funds are still scheduled to transfer tomorrow. Account is RR for merchant.

Amazon send the payment after 2 days after the email which says the disbursement is on its way and u get the money on the 3rd day. You can see that after 2 days after the confirmation email, on your amazon/payments menu a small box will show up in the bottom saying how much exactly you will get, this box show up after the payment has already been sent, then they cannot reverse it, but this happen in usually 2 days.

i have accounts suspended on the next day, the money is hold 90 days, i also had account suspended right after the transfer box message to show up, then they cannot hold it. This is 2 days after the payment date, so i dont agree with you that the next day is safe and ok for your payment. Until u see the message confirmation below, then they still didnt make your payment.

Update.. Money disbursed to my bank account. It shows the little box with the amount below the balance. This means the money will go through, or will it still be reversed?

You should be OK, your account is only in review, not suspended. Let us know when it arrives. Amazon can always recall funds from your bank, but highly unlikely. Is your account still open?

they can try from your credit card but I haven't heard them trying to recall from a bank

Yes, they can and do try to charge a credit card. I didnt think id need to add the obvious

But once a payment has been credited and in is in the bank there is no way to reverse it.

Yes, account is still open, but the money hasn't hit the bank yet. It's just a box that says it was transferred.

A BACS can be recalled up to noon the day its credited to your bank.

do you even use amazon ?? have you experienced what you are saying ?? because with over 100 accounts this has never happened

I can't vouch for this 100% because I have had accounts close two days after transfer and the money cleared.. But I have also had accounts close on me after transfer and the money never arrived.. It's a crap shoot honestly.

over a very long period of time, far bigger sellers than me get closed down and amazon / ebay rarely even flinch

obviously they make too much cash

And when the accounts get deleted, do you still get the money after the 90 days?
