Amazon customer buying wrong region software
 
Had a customer contact me about software that "doesn't work" on their console - I asked what region console they said, they've said PAL and the listing they bought from was a Japanese (only) game that's clearly labelled on the listing's front page as requiring a Japanese console and being NTSC-J/Not UK.


Who's side is amazon likely to take if he files a claim? He's put the game in his console, so I'm not wanting to get a refund as it's borderline worthless opened.

you won't win or have slim chance of winning. Offer buyer refund upon return and charge a restocking fee

I was thinking of copy+pasting Amazon's returns policy to him, if he kicks up a fuss. That does state opened software can't be returned for any reason, and from the email he's sent he really doesn't seem the sharpest tool in the shed.

Contact Seller Assistance and make sure you have all documentation in case of claim

Contact seller support for sure and check their take on it. Japs AZ seller support is much friendlier then US or UK. So, you might want to hit them first if your Japanese is any good. Japan is all about the customer's satisfaction and I love this part about Japan for sure!
