Can a UK resident set up an Amazon US seller account?
 

I am trying to get back on amazon UK by setting up a stealth account however with ID checks i wondered if it is easier to set up a USA account and if that is possible using UK address?

Any help appreciated

It is possible - log onto the Amazon US account and register - you will need US account however from what I have seen (I stand corrected if I am wrong)

from what I understand you can use any bank account, uk, us, au, etc
I was wondering about the address attached to it? would it work without having a uk amazon in place?

You can use a UK bank with amazon.co.uk, plus many other countries. You don't need a UK amazon account to sell in USA, and yes amazon.com and amazon.ca are now the easiest marketplaces to set up. Just for the record, amazon USA and Amazon Europe don't share info (as yet)

From what I can understand.

You can open a Amazon USA account with USA details and USA bank and sell on Amazon USA

You can sell worldwide with that account. However you would be better opening a ca. account if you want to sell to Canada.

To open a US account(a) you need to provide US information, then you have the issue of withdrawing your money.

What does it means 'need to provide US information'? is it you need to have us address, phone no etc.....? for withdraw,i am sure you can use UK bank details.

No disrespect but please post correct information. You can use all your UK stealth info to set up in the USA and UK stealth to open in CA, but use different info as if USA gets suspended Canada will follow. Yes you can use your UK bank for USA, not sure on Canada though as we don't sell there anymore.

I know this has already been answered, but yes, you can create an Amazon US account with a UK address and UK bank account and UK credit card. I am running 3 Amazon US stealth accounts with no problems so far. One of them is nearing 2 years and the others are more than 6 months old.

However, is it just as easy to create an Amazon UK account? I haven't been successful in creating a stealth UK amazon account yet..

Barry, Canada for our products is very slow and not at this time worth the investment in technology. I would say similar to Spain, very poor.

This sounds like some hope is still available for us UK Amz stealthers...

If Amz.com and Amz.co.uk do not share information, would it be ok to set up an Amz.com account from stealth details on an Amz.co.uk account which has been suspended? Or is this a no-go ?

Then, if successful, using the freshly created Amz.com account to sell on Amz.co.uk ?

As said earlier ebay King, at this moment amazon.co.uk and amazon.con don't share info, so yes you will be OK. You cannot use amazon.com account details to sell on .co.uk. You need to set up a .co.uk account which if you wish to be stealth is virtually impossible as you have to supply passport info.

Sorry to ask again Micky, but was the part about selling worldwide using a amz.com account not correct?

Also, does anyone think the amz stealth guide may need adjusting for the new rules with uk, etc... accounts now?

amazon.com you can set your settings to supply worldwide, however the customer has to buy from .com. I would say virtually 100% of UK customers would buy from .co.uk.

The guide is mostly correct in setting up stealth, just amazon are changing the ID methods which the guide I would imagine cannot advise on as to creating false ID etc is fraud. IMO

I am not sure what is going on or if Amazon.com and .uk do actually share info but from searching through the forum i got the impression that they do not share information.

Today i just tried to set up a Amazon.com account from UK using my old Amazon.uk details as i thought it would be fine as they dont share info but on creating my account (new email addresss) it instantly got suspended.

I got a message saying 'Our records indicate that you are not authorized to access this feature. Return to your Seller Account' which i found was rather strange.

I used a pre paid cash plus card, the account details have never been used on any Amazon site but the name address and all other details where used on my Amazon uk and EU site.

To be honest i am not sure.... I dont even know if it was the actual card details that got me flagged in the first place. Could have been all the details i used as they were all the same as my previous account except email

Some of the gift cards are only available for use in the UK. Read on the packet this will give you the answer.

hello there guys, i have been selling on amazon.co.uk for some time since last year. during my good times i was the expert in .co.uk and raking in the sales and cash. during my good times i had so many accounts, one after another. and then around april when i tried to open another account it woudnt let me as it ask me to provide with proof of ID, TAX INFO, LETTER. after then it has been impossible for me to get back on amazon.co.uk. i have been researching about amazon.com but i dont know if it would work for me as i am from the uk.

questions about amazon.com, can i send my fba inventory into uk fulfillment centre rather than sending it to amazon.com which will be in usa? if so i have to send inventory to usa what are the customs like over there as i from uk and have no idea?

i have been told that after 3 months amazon.com hold your money as they then ask for tax info, which means you have to switch to new accounts every 3 months?

finally is there any way to create an amazon european seller account in any way? such as.co.uk, .de, .fr, .it, .es?

Is using your debit bank card to verify stealth a big no no? I see everyone suggesting using vanilla cards, why not simply used the credit/debit card assigned to the new business checking account you opened for Amazon deposits?
