Buyer A-Z 3 months after

Hi, I was a small time seller. I sold a macbook to a dude in Feb. A bit later, I deleted my account because I'm a college student and I felt I should focus more on my schoolwork. Also, I ran out of **** to sell.

3 months later the dude wants a refund, claiming the screen is broken. He files an A-Z claim. I've yelled at every Indian in their guarantee department, but all I get is form letters telling me to give refund info.

This guy is obviously scamming me, considering the timeframe. Pointing out amazon's policy gives me no luck. I'm wondering what to do.

I'm thinking of ignoring it because I don't have an amazon payments or seller account, and amazon has none of my credit/debit/bank account info. What would happen if I did this? Would they still get the money? Would they send a debt collector after me?

Or should I accept the refund, and try and see if I can get away with only giving a partial refund for what is bound to be a broken, unsellable piece of **** after 3 months in this dudes hands? Or will amazon just give him a full refund after I get it back, with no way to defend myself?

If it is past the 90 day period simply state the terms and conditions on amazons own website about a-z. I had this happen to me, a girl wanted to return a college book after the semester ended. I simply stated that it was past the 90 day period and amazon denied her claim

Tried that, but the reason the buyer is apparently attempting to return it is "screen damage". Even though I uploaded pics of the screen during the auction, which was perfectly fine. Somehow, Amazon thinks this means that it was broken on sale rather than after 3 months of abuse, and that I put it in the wrong category, so the A-Z claim is automatically put through.

I've tried email to correct this mistake, but all I get is pre-made responses back from the guarantee team.

Garbage reply from Amazon - do you have original receipt when you bought it? Perhaps he can deal with transfer of warrantee

Nope, I don't. I've currently canceled my card and had all my money switched to a new account so amazon can't bill me. But worried about amazon fowarding my money to debt collectors and ruining my credit score. I don't have much of one because I'm 20 and also have a bunch of medical bills, but it's something I don't really want all the same.

I don't have a seller account anymore, so Idk if I can offer a partial refund. Would it be possible to allow the return, then forward pictures of the item in its broken state to the guarantee team to only have to pay back a partial refund?

- Sent guarentee guy a picture of the laptop with undamaged screen I took as part of the listing. Hopefully this will help.

Tell him to file a claim with the shipper. They all give free coverage up to $100. You are not responsible for item being physically abused. Other than that if it were me I would tell them to go pound sand....

3 months after and you owe this guy nothing.
Fight it.
This is a blatant rip off and since you are not even selling anymore, just tell that buyer to kick rocks and get it fixed at his own expense. :rip:

If your account is closed, no CC on file with a limit, no money in the bank that amazon disburses your funds, turn your pc off and concentrate on your studies.

Sorry to hear that but how can someone file a claim after 3 months saying that it was faulty from start? Its shocking that amazon allows that to happen.

There was a case against me before. A customer filed a complaint that what she bought has developed a fault, after 4 months of purchase. And it is backed up with the manufacture warranty so she should take it up with them and not me. She won in a way that she got her refund. But out of amazon expense and not mine.

This is just wrong as this just encourage people to say I want my money back, regardless of how long and who is at fault.....
