Scammer wants me to call them.

I believe a customer is trying to scam me and wants me to call them. I would like to keep the communication through Amazon so that everything is recorded. Does Amazon require me to give phone support? Do I have to call the customer back or can I tell them that I do not provide any type of phone support?

It's against amazon policy.... Seller can not provide direct email or phone number. If you do and get caught you will get warning. Just let them know this. Scammer or no scammer don't do it.

So I can tell the buyer that it is Amazon policy to only communicate through Amazon message system? I won't let in trouble for not contacting the customer by phone?

No, tell amazon you got a request for a phone call and you want their help.

If you think this is a scammer,do nothing to enable them.

Play the good amazon seller you are.

From what I understand (and this is probably a somewhat recent policy change), Amazon is not averse to contacting customers by phone.. or for you providing a number for customers to contact you.

1. They now show the customer's phone number on the order page
2. There is a setting where you can put in your number in case you want customers to be able to get a hold of you

Yes they did send their phone number.

Well as long as Amazon does not require a seller to communicate with the buyer by phone then I won't

Yeah its best to just keep it on Amazon email system.

Unless you record the call its hear say. And even then, you need to tell the buyer that youre recording them.

Best to not risk anything. :spy:

Exactly - let everything be recorded. Phone calls would not allow Amazon messaging system to keep a track of what is being said...
