Will Amazon follow eBay's new 180 return policy?

Amz currently has the (more than generous) long 90 day refund policy, but I hear eBay are increasing theirs to 180 days from 45 days in June this year.

eBay will surely lose sellers using this method?

Anyone think Amz will stick with 90 days or will they copy eBay?

Hmm... AZ return window is 30 days. AZ never copies eB. Its the other way around.

Why do you think ebay will ever lose?

A return policy of 180 days, wow. I normally just put the default 14 days but ebay likes buyers so it doesn't matter if your return policy is 14 days or no return accepted.

If the customer wants to return the item(s), the seller has to accept it. But I wonder who will put their return policy to 180 days if that is true. I haven't heard anything on that yet.

The policy is with PayPal, but eBay forces users to use PayPal.

Dispute change from 45days to 180 days !!! New Pay... - The eBay Community

Coming in on 17 June 2014

Word on the forums is that sellers do not like it one bit, maybe eBay might lose sellers?

I know I would think twice about selling on eBay with this sort of 180 day policy.

Open a Dispute

Open a Dispute within 45 days (or, if you are claiming as a registered UK resident user of PayPal, 180 days)of the date on which you made the payment for the purchase you would like to dispute. We may refuse to accept any Dispute that you open in relation to that purchase after the expiry of that period (please be aware of this if you agree a delivery time of an item or performance of a service with the Payment Recipient that falls after the expiry of that period)
