Beauty in U.S. restricted

Started listing in new U.S. account and found the whole beauty category is restricted now. (even the little cheap crap).

Has anyone gone through the authorization process, and we were wondering what to expect before we ask AZ about it.

Thanks

Just noticed the same is with "Health and Personal Care".

Any ideas on handling with the AZ flunkies???

Thanks

I asked the same exact question a few weeks ago and nobody has been able to help me. Calling all Amazon experts! How do we get around this without having to buy an unrestricted account from someone???

Yes beauty in USA can be restricted, thankfully not this problem in Eastern Europe :)

I just tried and was able to list, I guess if you listed in the past than u can still list in that category, my account is 2 years old

But I'm not exactly sure on the criteria of who can and cannot list

Re: Beauty in U.S. restricted

Beauty / Health related categories are VERY VERY touchy, there was a problem with lots of sellers selling items that they are not even supposed to sell and as a result AZ took the whole category down.

Some times you have to apply to be able to sell in those categories and sometimes it's just locked out for an unsaid amount of months.

I highly suggest you just call them and ask about those categories.

Re: Beauty in U.S. restricted

Did some checking on this, and you need to establish yourself first with AZ's usual ratings system. Then you can ask to sell in these 2 catagories, but be prepared to provide invoices. Here it is.

Amazon limits the addition of new sellers in the Beauty category to ensure that customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Amazon. The requirements for selling in the Beauty category reflect customer concerns about product quality, product branding, and consumer safety.
Sellers must meet the requirements listed below in order to sell products in the Beauty category. Please take the time to read this list of requirements and consult our Help pages if you have questions about specific policies. Once you have reviewed the category requirements, you can apply for approval by clicking the Request Approval button at the bottom of the page.
Seller Requirements
• You must be registered as a seller on the Professional Selling plan.
• You must meet the following seller performance targets:
 Order defect rate: < 1%
 Pre-fulfillment cancel rate: < 2.5%
 Late shipment rate: < 4%
• You must provide us with acceptable documentation and other information we request about the products you intend to sell. After you request approval to sell in the Beauty category, we will contact you with additional information.
• You are not required to have your own company website, but if you have one it will be helpful to us to review it during the application process. Product Requirements
• All Beauty products must be listed using the manufacturer's UPC code. For more information on UPC requirements, see Product UPCs and GTINs. If you do not have UPCs, review the Amazon Brand Registry information for how to list products without UPCs.
• All Beauty products must be sold in New condition. Used listings are not permitted. For more information, see the Condition Guidelines.
Next Step
If you are able to meet all of the requirements listed above, please click the Request Approval button below. By clicking the button you are confirming that you have reviewed the requirements above and that you want to apply to sell in the Beauty category. We will contact you to request additional required information, after you submit your request to sell.

Hope that helps.

I think the "walk-around" on this part is CLEARLY state that you are not manufacturer nor are you a clinic thus not FDA Regulated, but would adhere to selling only FDA passed goods. You are mainly reselling Health and Beauty items.

Re: Beauty in U.S. restricted

Recently Beauty, Health and Personal Care , Grocery categories started requiring approval from Amazon before selling for new sellers.

I got 1 account approved in all these categories. All they need is 3 invoices ( must be paid) also give them few high rating ASINs that you plan to list. Make sure those products are on your invoices which you give them.

They started this a month or so ago.

Many are not getting ok'd for any of these categories even with invoices, receipts etc.

They are limiting who is selling what so here we go, ebay wants to be like Amazon and now Amazon is making ebay type decisions.

Re: Beauty in U.S. restricted

Because this is so impactful on so many fronts, are there interest from other forum members to continue this thread to see

-what worked
-what didn't

As far as receipts goes, if you were buying clearance HB from say a local pharmacy/retailer I think you have to prove to Amazon that you're selling on a much larger level. I read reports in the past that Amazon Seller Support usually gives VIS (Very important sellers) only slap on the wrist when other accounts are suspended. VIS threshold was $50K a month minimum.

If we were able to show $5K-$10K invoices you think that would do it for seller approval?

Just a thought!
