Will Amazon ask to see a copy of my driver's license?
 

I've had PayPal ask me to upload a copy of my driver's license, however, Amazon has never done this to me. I've read a few threads where they have done this.

Is there a specific reason they would ask, or is it just random?

How likely is it to happen?

Amazon doesn't usually care enough to go to that trouble. They'd rather just boot you. I would suspect any such request as a phishing attempt unless the message is also in your Seller Central message box.

if you selling UK or eu platform then they ll ask for id . Its EU law.

OVIDI, Obviously you don't know the new regulations for opening an EU account.Passport or Driving Licence is now required to open an account and then they may request the same uploaded into seller central.

Nothing like that.... yet.

A solution could be to consider using a correctly created business account with LLC/EIN.

Bottom line is the selling plan of an amazon user.

Been variations in requests for ID that were and are not phishing.

Has anyone actually been asked to upload ID to Amazon, ever? After all, they are of the mindset that they'd rather just trash you then bother with any more effort.

Yes its part of the EU sign up procedure. You enter you PP or DL number where requested. Invariably they then a few days later for various documents to upload.They are uploaded within seller central. This is an EU banking regulation so amazon have to follow the rules that all customers are verified. Its nothing like the US sign up. Hope this helps
