Wireless card amazon

Does amazon see my MAC address of my wireless card? If I buy a new one and use my phone as a tether wil they know it is the same and get linked can the wireless card link accounts thanks!

Re: Wireless card amazon

If by wireless, you mean wifi card, yes, Amazon sees that.

3G cards do not have Mac addresses per se, they have something called a IMEI which identifies the card on the mobile network.

Ripped off, what are you using your iphone for? Checking email thru gmail or similar, or tethering?

Re: Wireless card amazon

I am tethering my iphone for internet to my laptop so if I purchase multiple wireless USB adapters I can still use my iphone for tethering all my accounts or do I have to get an additional phone I can change ip on iphone so if I change the adapter for each account then it will be like I'm a new seller to them on each of the accounts am I correct... Just feathering for internet access no checking emails can amazon see if I open emails I never respond to emails at all because they can get my info am I correct

Amazon don't check your mac address, this just an old myth. They do check your IP so make sure you log on with a different one for each account. If however you log on at JFK for example they won't ban you with your IP. Large public centres you are not going to get banned on your IP.

Sorry, but unless someone actually CONFIRMED this with a person who works for Amazon, you are blowing hot air. Even Starbucks and McDonalds hotspots log your network adapter MAC address; in fact, it's right there in the dynamic URL that forwards you to the click agreement!

Make sure e-mail images and beacons are all turned off

Re: Wireless card amazon

So change the wireless card for each account and I can still use my iphone as long as the ip changes but the first six never change so is this ok

Barry Curran is the expert here, but your MAC is not logged by amazon, sorry. I run 20 plus accounts on one laptop, so even from my experience if you you MAC was logged by amazon I would have been suspended by now. There are many old posts confirming this if you care to search through the forum. Sorry Ovidiu you seem to be a little out of date with knowledge.

Re: Wireless card amazon

So should I just get a new phone or get both to get a new ip

Re: Wireless card amazon

If you get a 4g dongle from say T Mobile, the IP changes everytime you plug it in. This has to be the easiest option.

Who the heck is Barry Curran?

No offense, but back when this topic was first being debated, a whole bunch of execs, including yours truly, ran experiments, especially after finding it next to impossible to keep a stealth Amazon account going, and decided the MAC address was the one variable we had not accounted for.

PS you are from the UK and Amazon may run things a bit differently there (just like how for a while, it was easier to set up a ebay seller account in Canada vs US); I only speak for US seller accounts.

I looked this guy up, he's from the UK, laws are different there and maybe they don't currently check MAC addresses there.

Anyone in the US looking to possibly get suspended by Amazon can just go ahead and follow these guys' advice.

:nono: Steady on with comments like that.

Posters in question are heavily into selling with stealth on different amazon platforms. They are not newbies that you infer.

I will not mention the word ,assume...

Oops, I just did.

Take a deeper breathe and dont do battle.

Greenbean, like I said before, what Amazon is doing in the US is different from what they may be doing in other countries. MAC addresses are easily accessible to the server and have been used many times to make definitive ID's on various individuals for various reasons, including, but not limited to, law enforcement purposes. In fact, Amazon's T&C's for some of their services specifically state they may collect identifying information such as your device's MAC address.

Dude, for your info I sell on the US,Uk,De,Fr,It,Es and Ca. I have been a marketplace seller for around 10 years and MAC address is no longer an issue. Tracking methods of sellers and buyers is common to all marketplaces. The only thing is that EU, USA and Canada, Japan don't share information between each other.

Re: Wireless card amazon

So to sum up this topic I can still use my iphone for all accounts just change the wireless card if I want multiple accounts then get multiple USB wifi adapters one for each account since the ip will change and the adapters will all have different addresses it would benefit my situation if I did this and also purchased another phone. Since most of my accounts were either suspended put in review fast and or deleted could not log in not is safe to say they tracked my MAC address . Stealth accounts were all new info non linking only thing that could be linked would be the wireless card do I stand correct .

Re: Wireless card amazon

What do you mean by USB Wifi card? Do you mean a 3G/4G data card, or a USB 802.11 card?

Re: Wireless card amazon

Rippedoff... I think you must be doing something seriously wrong to get linked or closed so many times, are you listing the same sku's, uploading stock from the same excel sheet etc. I will give you an example. I run 4 accounts in the USA, all on the same apple mac, but all with with different user id's and use a different ip for each account. These accounts are years old. A few months ago an account of mine was linked in the US and suspended, to this day I don't know why, it was on the same apple mac that I am using today and non of my other 4 accounts were suspended. All I can say, look at your methods as you are doing something seriously wrong.

Re: Wireless card amazon

My method 1 laptop partitioned with xp vista and w7 1 iphone 9 accounts each partition is unique new cc address
Bank telephone etc list Items used or new never repeated check IP's on all never repeated but like I said the first six do not change it was working for a while I would put airplane mode on and. Off a few times and check ip never duplicated so my dilemma leads me back to MAC wireless card I can not locate a t mobile. 4 g dongle so I was going to buy a wifi USB card and a new phone to teather also if I use a few USB wifi cards with my iphone my orig method of getting on the internet then I should be ok since I can get a new ip and will have a new MAC addressing each new card that would be different from each other so that is were I'm stuck is it the wifi card in my laptop is it my phones ip do not know items are never duplicated or relisted from a dead or review account. I'm at a loss

ovidiu 07-14-2014 08:17 AM

Re: Wireless card amazon

You don't need a new wifi card to get a new MAC address, just download a free MAC spoofing program off the 'net. And you will need to watch the IP address you're getting every time since you are probably getting repeats here and there.
