Tax interview info not valid?
 

Hi guys,

We've spent the last couple hours trying to figure this out (and have reviewed the ebook as well).

We registered a new EIN for our LLC for our stealth account here: Apply for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) Online

Now after the tax interview, Amazon is saying the information does not match IRS records. We have double checked everything.

Is it because we just filed the new EIN hours ago? Is there a delay for the IRS to make everything "valid?"

We will try again tomorrow and report back.

There can be a delay for the info to 'get' in to the IRS data base.

I would think waiting should be fine.

Have you checked your info is correct?

No typos or slight differences?

That can also affect the outcome.

What you say you are must match what the IRS have.

Definitely no typos - I've run through it a few times, with my partner watching too.

Perhaps it is the difference between our "Business Address" in Amazon, and the address the IRS has (which is that of our original LLC)? I know this is pretty specific, but if anyone has gone through the same scenario... I will mention that our 1st Amazon account had a different Business Address than the IRS has on file (which is the address of the LLC's broker), and it worked fine.

We will keep trying in the meantime! Thanks for the help. :thumb:

From what I can remember, it took around 2 weeks for the IRS to confirm it with Amazon. Just be patient; if it fails, they will simply ask you to update it with the correct info. I legitimately accidentally put in a couple wrong bits of info (regarding address I think), and it failed twice. Nothing bad happened, I got it right the 3rd time and my selling privileges were never put on hold during this period (although I think they did put a hold on the funds after the 2nd failed attempt).

I just did mine tonight and it says after you complete it that it will take 2 weeks or so for the information to show up in the TIN matching system.

Thanks guys, we will give it a couple weeks. I figured being the IRS and all, there may be a delay in their system. We'll keep on pushing forward in the meantime.

any update on this? i'm having the same problem too. I filed for the expedited EIN and LLC about 3-4 days ago.

I'm assuming its just the delay..
