How to fill in the correct Amazon EIN tax info
 

Hi All,
I got a EIN # from the IRS website and I filled out the Amazon tax info and gave it to them. I got a email from amazon saying I gave them the wrong info and I have 30 days to give them the correct info or I get the ban hammer. On the IRS website you have to give your real name and SS# to get a EIN#. I gave Amazon my amazon name which is not my real name. If I give amazon my real name and the EIN#, will they link my previous account I had with my real name but this is a different EIN#? If someone who has done this successfully reads this, can you please give me some advice on how to pass the amazon tax form successfully? I will update with screen shots if this is confusing.

Don't know how much help I'll be but... I had the exact same issue. I definitely called the Division of Corporations and I believe I had them change the name on the LLC to the name I gave Amazon. Within a few days the problem was solved. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

thanks but I had the business name the same on the ein# and amazon. that is not th issue. I think it has to do with the real name, and amazon name.

you usually need to click the option on amazon that states you receive the EIN less than 60 days ago as the IRS may not have it in the system that amazon uses yet or something to that affect. So if you didn't click that option could be your problem. Also make sure that the info you provide matches 100% when you provided to IRS. every dot, comma and everything else needs to be there

It is a LLC. I clicked the 60 days option. I guess I have to make it exactly what I gave IRS
