Account Review selling safety items
 

Hello,

I finally set up a New Amazon stealth account and it has been running for almost 3 days. I have successfully spoofed my mac address on my Internets router and set up a virtual machine that I only use to go on Amazon for purposes of my Amazon seller account.
As I was paranoid the first day I set up my stealth account that I would get banned, I put up one item that was worth very little money (a book worth 3 dollars). It sold within the first hour of me putting it up.

I have read forums and the guide to look over safety items (or items that won't get you banned or have you under suspicion for account review). So I chose books, however, I received the email that my account is under review for and I quote "Merchant Approval" purposes. :noidea:
Does this normally happen? or Is this very odd to occur with safety items? (I will note that the books I put for sale on my account range from higher prices of $10+ and are in Good-New condition)

Please if anyone has any idea on how this happened or any advice to get through the review, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Whenever the account was first put under review I had only 30 items posted and 2 of them actually sold(equalling less than 20 dollars). So it just boggles my mind that I'm selling items that cannot be duplicated and are considered low risk/safety items and yet I have been put under a 28 day review. :noidea:

Maybe they are increasing scrutiny with the holidays coming up. According to experienced members, it happens several months in advance of Thanksgiving/Christmas.

I kind of understand the system getting a bit uptight of its seller around the holidays, however it's weird considering that this is the first time any of my accounts has been put under a review with items that are considered low risk. Especially since my profit margin at the time was under that of 20 dollars. But thank you for answering, it's given light on a possibility that this is random.
