I don't think their online warehouse lowballing strategies are going to work here. Hope they shoot themselves in their foot and learn what it's like to sit around online and do their best to drive prices down into the toilet.

Rumors are they are trying to buy a store at my local mall... I think this is going to be the norm for amazon....

In the long run they can steal more business from bestbuy and other retailers by having a brick and mortar store. They already have a logistics system in place where they tranship between warehouses...

Seems like they can reduce returns by having the top sellers on display where customers can see and feel the product. If they will accept returns in the store too, it will lower return shipping costs.

I think they are going to have a learning experience. They can easily afford it, but creating a profitable prototype that they can replicate will be difficult.
If they are just going to create show rooms, because they will soon not be able to use best buy, or wallmart as a show room then its a good idea.

Showrooms are a good idea but they are venturing into brick and mortar which is contraintuitive to their web success

It's an interesting idea, some analysts are also saying they want to do it so they can physically show off their fire phone to consumers to show them the features etc as it would help them sell more
