Is it better to create your own listing on Amaz or select one they have on their site
 

Hello,
I have created my own listing and listed one that is already on their site. Sometimes they will give me "issues" when I try to attach my name to an already listed item that is on their website. When creating my own listing, my item is always the last item when someone is searching for my item so they might miss it, but I rarely get any issues from Amazon when creating my own listing. Is there anyway that I can get my item better exposure in the search listings? I fill up all the search term boxes, so it is not a lack of search terms that I input. What do you think is better? Putting your name on an existing item, or creating your own listing?

I would pick the list that already on their site if the are the same item. Why would you try to attach your name to it?

Attach my name to it means I got one to sell, so I attach my name to the listing currently on the site. Why would you do that instead of creating your own listing?

Technically, you are not supposed to create a new listing for an item that already exists on Amazon.

Interesting. I did not know that. Do they ever take items down because they list a item already on amazon? I never had that happen.

They will merge 2 listings into 1 if they find 2 of the same listings.

If you continue to create alternate listings that already exist in their database, you are asking for a possible suspension for not adhering to their rules.
