Phone verification not working
 

I signed up for a free phone number and forwarding through Sonetel. I can call the number form my cell an it forwards it to my other phone no problem. However, I never get a call from Amazon for phone verification. Anybody know what the problem could be? Does Amazon not call certain numbers?

Looks like there are Google voice numbers available again. I will try that

Some numbers on divert take a while to connect,the number appears to be ringing for amazon but has not yet reached your phone. It seems amazon only allow a certain number of rings before they hang up.

Sonetel is not great for stealth. I tested them before and couldn't get them to work. In fact, their TOS states their service cannot be used to verify eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, Adwords or PayPal accounts.

They must know Amazon's number and not accept the call

Tell me about Text plus. I see it is a free android app. So it gives you a phone number and allows you to get the text form Amazon for verification? Totally free to do this?

Amazon sending text???? Don't know about textplus but pinger work ok with Amazon call

yes, there is an option to send the code via text or phone call

Your talking about when you create the account and need to get the code when you make an Amazon Account??

If this is what you mean than I made 3 accounts all with Textplus , but I used the call option and received the code that way

I don't think any of the free service like textplus, pinger, textfree CAN receive text from amazon/paypal/ebay. Call option is OK but not text

Yes, they all work with calling the code but not texting, it has something to do with regular cell companies blocking these codes , something to do with competition of VOIPs VS Cellular Companies

But for whatever reason TEXTPLUS is able to receive eBay's text code just not PayPal

When using a phone App, you need to get the call by call option and you need a strong signal , 4G LTE works great for me the calls come in and they are loud and clear

But sometimes if I tried using my home internet with router ( Comcast) and if I were in a far away room, there's one room in my house that is total opposite of the router location which is two floors down and in the opposite direction, so using the phone App in this room will just get me a missed call or voicemail afterwards

So it's best to use 4G LTE or go right near the router and it will ring

Yes, but it works if it's the original number that you used to sign up for the account, if you try and add the number after the fact it is than a toss up like any other phone

Too bad that I already have Pinger and Pinger CAN'T received call from PP
