Selling on Amazon Canada

I was thinking of selling on Amazon Canada. I was going to go strictly FBA. Can others who sell on that platform give me the pros and cons. Please share your experience.

traffic is very low from my experience. I was selling 50-80 items a day on amazon US and was lucky to sell 1-2 on CA (same products)

Cant hurt to try though. Different products might be in more of a demand.

We sell on both Can and US. (situated in Canada).

The US will give you about 10x the number of sales (just because of population).

On the good side, sale prices are higher in Canada, and less competition.

The same rules are now in effect in Canada as the US in regards to restricted categories.

The trick is the exporting of products into Canada; unless you find a supplier that will ship direct to FF.

Best of luck.

Yes they can, but you have duty/taxes to worry about if caught.

Also cross border shipping of larger boxes does get costly.

Remember, Kelly said FBA only.

So just pay the dutys...

i send a 7x4 4oz package all the time that costs $6.91 USPS first class intl

So each has their own definition of costly i suppose

Shipping to CA from US is really not that difficult

Why can't I just create a UPS label in my seller account and ship FBA just like I do on US account? Will Amazon charge me for any duty?

So does Amazon incur the charge and then take it out of your seller account?

Also, is the UPS option available when purchasing from Amazon to send in FBA?

Re: Selling on Amazon Canada

When you create your UPS label, you will charged duty then. UPS will collect it(It has been a while since I shipped UPS or Fedex to Canada, but that is how it was 15-16 months ago)

Re: Selling on Amazon Canada

AZ Canada does NOT have the option for using their own UPS account yet.

You have to find a courier to do it, or export it yourself if close to the border.

Can recommend a very good broker if you need one; as we export from Canada, and also import into Canada.

Re: Selling on Amazon Canada

The duty is determined by the tariff code of your goods. VAT/GST will be charged at the CA rate on the value of your goods.
You will need to ship to a broker and not direct to amazon as amazon.ca will not be your importer.
However you will be able to export your USA goods free of VAT/GST, that if your are registered in the first place.

Even with FBA on amazon Canada, there are tax matters to have under control. It's complex. You need to know that going into the exercise.
