Linking from registered agent
 

What are people's thought about keeping the registered agent in your own name?

I would think it would have to be something they looked at only if there was a manual review and if there were no other linking info besides the name it would be OK

thoughts?

Its the face behind handling the LLC paperwork. Accessible by public records. I honestly don't think they check or have any system in place to link based off this, but certainly can if they wanted.

Often, registered agents are attorneys or companies that specialize in BEING registered agents. CT Corporation Systems is probably EVERYBODY'S registered agent. Attorneys may be on hundreds, or even thousands of registrations. So, while it IS possible to link this way if they really really wanted to, it is a very poor way to develop positive links. And it would have to be done manually. There is no way this could be done with automation. At least not without a ton of work to write the programs first (they would need to develop a list of attorneys) and I don't think it would be worthwhile for them to do so.

I really do not think it matters. My account name does not equal the registered agent name on my LLC....

I have the same question as I am currently opening a stealth on an old LLC I have, and I am the registered agent on it, but my name was previously used on a suspended amz account. My thoughts are that there is no way they can link you based on the registered agent name, since there are many people in the USA with same name. Especially if you make sure to not put your old address as the registered agent address. I am using only the business address as the only address for everything on that LLC - the business address, the mailing address, and the registered agent address is all the same address - new address that can't be linked to the suspended account.

If in fact they could link based on registered name, every John Smith in this country would never own Amazon account, as well as pretty much every other person since there surely are more than one person with the same name all over the place. This would be especially troublesome for Attorneys who act as registered agents, as they will be linked on hundreds of accounts.

It's just my opinion, and I can let you know what happens after I setup this account lol
