Multiple Accounts help
 

I have been trying to get a stealth up and running for about 3 months now and it opens for about a week or 2 an then gets shut down when I need to enter a social security number(I use a few people all with permission). So I have 2 questions

1. Does an Ein seem to work better then a SS Number?

2. I see people having multiple account and I am a little confused. I assume I need a different virtual machine for each account but what about my router. Do I have to change the MAc address for that every time I want to access the account?

Any help would be great.

You need to make sure the IP address is different each time you log in to a different account. Otherwise they will link you. If one went down they would all go down

But what about the MAC Address for the computer and the MAC address for the router? Do I need to change that EVERY time i login to the account?

I have the same question. I think I read that we need to change the router MAC address too. I want to use a VM for another account but want to make sure of the step every time I need to log in. I am new and this will be my first time.
Can someone confirm if we need to 1. change IP 2. change MAC router

The Computer Mac address and the router Mac address does not need to be changed?

But the IP address does need to be changed each time?

Is there a way to do this besides unplugging my router and modem for a few minutes and then plugging it back in every time to change my IP address?

Depends on your ISP.

Generally though that is the easiest way.

okay awesome thanks for your help....Do you know anything about when they ask for the Social Security number? It seems like every time they do our account gets closed within days. Is an EIN a safer route? I do not want to pay a few hundred to get another one if its pointless.


We sell custom T-shirts so we really do not have competition but always get the possibly trademark violation as the reason we get shut down

You will want to go down the EIN route when it is requested.

If you are not getting asked for an EIN for tax purposes (which can be done on predicted sales), you need to work out what is triggering the request.

It seems we get asked once our sales start picking up(10-15 sales per day at about $15 per item)

$15 x 10 per day is a projection of well over the 200 items and $20,000 trigger.

Just provide the EIN :thumb:

you are using the same pics for these custom t-shirts might get you banned. The shirts which have designs, characters that are trade marked will get your account banned. Amazon does not mess around with new accounts. They will ban you in a second.

So do you mean use a completely different file for the image? As for trademarks we have never got into any problems with trademarks because we feel we are in the grey area which seem to be okay. I assume you looked into us or are you generalizing?

We were up and running for about 16 months with no issues and then got the possible trademark violation letter and we get the same for every account since.

they dont take chances with new accounts. 90 days is probational

Unless I missed something Amazon actually tells you once you get to 50 transactions they will limit you until you provide tax id.

So what are you suggesting we do?

I was thinking of opening up about 4 different accounts each having our better sellers so each account would not sell too many items.

Your shirts clearly rip off trademarks and infringe on their intellectual property. You use the teams logos and you have pictures of the players without their consent. What gray area are you talking about? You were just lucky to go that long without amazon banning you. I am sure you received multiple emails from amazon before they gave you the ban hammer.

We sell ZERO shirts with team logos on them

On your website you do. Just doing a 10 second search on the football shirts, I counted 5 team logos, and other shirts you took copyrighted pictures and just used a emboss filter on them. There is no gray area on that information. That is illegal, plain and simple. Any company that wants to protect it's image, can easily find you on amazon, and report your copy write infringing material. Boom, amazon bans you. Like I said before, I am sure your received multiple emails telling you to stop this. They rarely if ever will ban a 16 month old account out right.

The tecmo bowl shirt is awesome! I bet that sells like crazy is it protected if not I would push the crap out of that

I am sure as you know this is a slippery slope. I had a cousin doing a similar thing CA with shirts that had likenesses. Ended up getting a cease and desist order from the MLB. Same thing with some people who sell custom done jerseys that have no team logos. Have seen them get kicked off both sites as well.
