4g routers-wtf
 

So I am reasonably tech savvy but I have NO IDEA how this damn 4g router stuff works.

I want to get one of those 4g routers to create a mobile hotspot and just connect to my new laptop to avoid any issues with MAC addresses. I looked on AT&T's website and they have instructions for one, but it's unclear if you need a SIM card or not, and it doesn't appear that they sell it to you from the AT&T website.

How do I add the router to my account?
Is this a good option to avoid changing my ISP with cox and all the issues there? I don't want my entire family to have to change their internet, so if I can just buy a mobile hotspot that's fine. I'll even pay the $50 data per month or whatever.

Anyone done this?

So my question is with one of these hooked to my smartphone I can get multiple ips and use it for multiple accounts am I correct. I would be basically hiding my phones up and amazon will see only the ips I plug into the router?

Yes, remember to use multiple browsers tho for each account. I have just opened account number 3 and use a different browser for each.

Thanks ! One more question. Now it does not matter which device i buy correct i see some usb ones for like 12_30 bucks will they will get the job done. Seen some on new egg. Even with amazon ghost amazon is very tricky and getting harder to sell. I think it will hurt them in the future just my observation.

Can't you just use your phone to tether to and use its IP to connect on your laptop to different accounts? Or do you only have a phone that you are using for all your amazon accounts? I thought it's dangerous to use multiple accounts on one device/phone because of mac IP and browser fingerprinting and all that other stuff that will link the accounts?
