Amazon Accounts dropping like flies?

Anyone one else having issues with UK Amazon, out of six accounts 2 are pending verification needing UTR numbers, and another was suspended today for no apparent reason given by Amazon.

I may just be unluky but thought I would ask here incase something has changed...

All accounts on separate laptops, using their own 3g wifi dongles no simple way to link them.

The verification will hit everyone at some point.

You will be asked for it at some point, Amazon now have a legal obligation.

I am not broadcasting the ways on here, but use your imagination and brain and you see there are ways to avoid UTR etc.

I didn't ask for 'ways', I'm telling you, they WILL ask you for it. The ways you are talking about will eventually lead to issues.

Well I have accounts running since the introduction last year and this has not been requested and I have opened new accounts and still not requested. Please inform me of the issues you refer to

Are these UK or USA accounts?
It would seem in the UK you can open an amazon acount as an individual, but when that account turns over 6K they insist you register as a business or they suspend your listings, it may be a new thing and not needed for older accounts but it definitely has been in place for accounts opened since October.

Interesting, I only have a small no lmit account on Amazon but have been thinking a bit more about getting but more active and maybe getting up to a level where FBA might be worth it, I still have my original account so have not needing to go stealth or ghost so far. 6k does not seem like anywhere near enough to have to register it as a business or maybe I am just being swayed by thoughts about tax limits there! Oh and what is UTR anyway?

It's more than enough really to be shown as a business, not many people that are acting as an individual selling personal items would get to £6k...I doubt it anyway.

Re: Amazon Accounts dropping like flies?

I can see there point, HMRC's view on this is if you make even the slightest profit or intend to make a profit you should be registered for self assessment, doesn't mean you have to make a profit just means your willing to declare what you earn or loose :)..

Amazons taking it a bit to far in that your either a individual not trading professionally or your a business..

They should probably add an option for individual trading professionally that way they can still ask for the self assessment UTR number but dont scare of new sellers, who perhaps are nervous about starting out on their own.
