Default Amazon Review : 40 days and counting?

I created an Amazon account earlier this year. I started out just selling a couple things : a CD and software (from a reputable distributor).

After my first payment, I got the typical message from Amazon, telling me that a review period has been initiated. That was at the beginning of February.

As of today, I have not gotten any word that the review has ended. They stated that I would get a notice. So obviously it is still going on, even though I have done NOTHING since the review started. They have nothing to look at other than the first two sales and my contact/bank information.

So the question is : what is taking so long? I thought the window was 30 days. Are they actually suspicious of my account, even though there has been no activity? Is that in itself suspicious? I intend on slowly getting some sales going, but I'm just leery of doing anything during the review. Seems like every little action is scrutinized on there, and having a person watch me like a hawk is makes me sweat bullets when resuming business.

Are you still able to sell? If so your review is most probably over. People don't look over you, its all bot's

They don't tend to let you know when a review ends, or even if it's still going in, I've had 3 emails since mine started, but I can still list and even though there is a kind of 2 week rolling reserve I do get the option to click on withdraw quicker and get it couple of days later. Like you I have only had few sales. I started looking at FBA that got their attention and got them bombarding me with emails about taking that option up.

did you give them the correct standard answers eg. tell them what they need to hear to pass you? Call and doublecheck that, and add to your business plan as additional info if needed, also it might kickstart it again.....

You should never supply Amazon any info for a review.

Why call amazon, why send a business plan if its not been asked for and I have never seen one being requested. If the account is running and he is selling as it seems that he is, account not suspended, why look for problems. Remember how fish our caught "they open there mouth"

I did not supply them any information. The less they know the better I think. When the ship is sailing smoothly, I've learned not to rock the boat.

So should I just assume that the review has passed? I thought that it was their policy to let you know once it was finished, since that is what it said on the notice I got when it started.

Agreed seem to be different type of reviews, I have never been asked for any info and I get paid when funds become due. I have been on 2 week rolling reserve but these days I get asked if I want funds sooner.

sometimes they put you into 28 day review.in those theyll give an option to expedite the review by giving more details about your business like other sales channels, business store fronts and all that stuff

but these days appealing those reviews seems useless because theyll send you a generic reply telling you to wait patiently while buyers give you feedback so not much useful to appeal anyways

but if you see feedbacks coming in consistently then after 15 20 days into review go to the help area and contact customer service and place your appeal there and they will reply for sure within 24 hours instead of ignoring the appeal but in the end its your choice whether to wait it out or appeal

When they ask for information such as sources of inventory, duns & bradstreet info, etc. do you guys give them that on Stealth account or ignore that?

DUN number and all arent important other detail you obviously can make a decent story but main thing is feedback.if you have a few feedbacks its same to appeal without being told to wait till it completes in the generic messages they send

i give 0 info to them unless specifically asked for...you give nothing at all times..they are looking for more info about your business so they can use your data to grow themselves

So, basically, if you have good feedback coming in and they ask for that info, ignore it and you should pass?

I just wonder because we have seen where Amazon writes to people:

Hello,

We have removed your selling privileges because your account failed our review process.

Due to the proprietary nature of our business, we do not provide details regarding this process....

Just send items out soon as possible, update shipped on their website, review or not everything stays good. I just sent out my latest order, a dvd as it happens, marked as shipped straight away this morning. I wouldn't list any dvd's on eBay, but they can work well on Amazon, and for a little more money as well.
