Does anyone know how to generate UPC codes
 

We heard from a person that actually works for Amazon that there is a way to generate UPC codes without having to pay the huge prices for them. Can anyone help us?

What huge prices? Type "buy upc codes" into Google and you will find several of them available for cheap. I paid $20 for 1,000 UPC codes.

To generate bar codes, you have to be a member of the GS1. I don't remember the specifics, but members from years ago do not have to pay annual fees to maintain their memberships and keep their bar codes valid. But new members do. So, several of the older members sell barcodes for cheap.

I dont know about generating codes, but i like got like 3000 upc codes on ebay for like $15.

At that price why even bother generating your own?

I bought a few UPC codes for 20- 40 dollars, the place just took my money and ran. Still ned them, I plan to try again

I know that Amazon does keep them.
I know I can get them cheaply but we need more than a million. How to do this?

what are you selling if its not a secret ? if you need so much you should register under GS1

I never ask anybody WHAT they sell and I'm not going to start now.

You SERIOUSLY have a million products to list?

If so, UPC codes will be the least of your problems. You are not going to be able to load a spreadsheet containing a million records to eBay or Amazon without talking to them first. I don't think their systems would allow it. And even if they did, it is definitely going to get flagged.

And although I think answering this is kind of silly, if you REALLY need a million UPC codes, then either join GS1, or contact one of the cheaper providers of UPC codes and see if they will make you a deal.

UPC codes are registered, with the first few digits identifying the owner. This could be a company like Disney or Proctor and Gamble which handle their own UPC codes, or a broker that provides UPC codes for smaller companies. If you try to create a million of your own UPC codes, I would imagine at some point whoever owns the first few digits of the codes you created is going to investigate and complain about it. I have no idea what the consequences may be, but Amazon and eBay wouldn't hold you in high regard after that.

And I don't think that there is ANY COMPANY that has a million products registered. Hundreds, thousands or maybe even tens of thousands, but millions?

I just bought 10K UPC on ebay. do i need to register them somewhere or i can start using it instantly ?

you CANT reuse them on amazon platform once it been used.
