Can a Canadian Living in China send to FBA in America?
 

Can someone answer for me? I am a Canadian living in China. I've been living in Taiwan and China for around 25 years. I have My Amazon account set up with Amazon Canada. But I have not sold anything through amazon yet. I am planning to private label something(s) from China to send to Amazon FBA in the states. Is it ok for me to send to FBA in the states as a Canadian living abroad? My Amazon account is linked through my Canadian Bank account."

What I strongly suggest is you read over amazon seller central forums.

This topic has had a bit of activity over the last year.

There are logistics, taxes amongst other issues to determine.

Above is the Fulfillment part of amazon. Put FBA from China in the search box & you will find a whole heap of info.

Make sure you do careful planing AND make sure you avoid losing money.

Must say it sounds exicing to me.

Be careful OP if the goods are coming from China - Amazon is very strict about FBA...if your goods are in anyway problematic, you will not get them back.

Not sure there should be a problem where the OP is supply his own private label items.

That's exactly why he must do a lot of ground work.

You cannot send direct to amazon as amazon.com will not be your importer. You need an agent in the US to clear you goods through customs to pay any relevant GST/Duty who will then forward your goods to amazon. You can use amazon cheap shipping rates once the goods are in the US.

Thanks for the advice and that link GreenBeen. It seems that it is possible to do but need to use freight forwarder for importing the goods.

Yes, this seems to be what I have read and what you guys have posted here further confirms that.

I totally know what you all mean about having to be very proactive with the suppliers here in China. I have been dealing with them for a few years and its true that you need to watch over things very carefully. As soon as you take your eyes off the wheel, things can go to hell in a hand basket real fast!

I guess everyone has their horror stories.
