That's why you better make a good amount accounts just incase they do start to ask ID in the US . Every year amazon puts more restriction it will someday will come to this and it will just be much harder to make amazon accounts . Stock up !

It always helps to think ahead and have a couple of extra accounts on hand, just in case. I always keep a reserve of 4 Amazon accounts. I list a few books on each one and I take care not to be the lowest price. I check them email accounts daily just to make sure I have no inquiries or orders. It may seem like a pain, but I have a routine I go through each morning to maintain accounts.

The problem your method in theory is good but in practice will not work. In the UK, yes they are asking for passports etc for new accounts, but they are also asking established account to provide the same criteria. In my opinion this will not happen in the US as a a tax interview is already being done and in the EU this was EU law that forced the changes.

And multiple accounts.

Not all users want to run multiple accounts.

Difficult enough for many to keep one account active.

That needs addressing first.

Hypothetically speaking and in regards to amazon uk if ever there was a brexit could all this verification nonsense go away since it was an EU law to begin with?
Wishful thinking?:juggle:

Wishful thinking?:juggle:

It's pushed from the FATF end - the Anti Money Laundering-Counter Terrorism Finance regulations - and from the OECD.

The Powers That Be finally got their wish - and now tax evasion is a predicate crime for Money Laundering.

Brexit won't do much to halt the progress of AML-CTF as we are FATF and OECD members. But the stupidity and gold plating from the EU Commission will continue without the UK so things might just stay as they are post Brexit in this green and pleasant land while the regulation gets ever tighter in the EU states.

Look on the bright side - if they have any sense at Brexit the UK gov will get rid of the 'cookie law' and all those little things to click - the stupidist annoyance on the Internet since Kanye West's last Tweet!
