Tax Information for Amazon
 

Did copious amounts of research on this topic, however, all the answers I found were outdated, over 2-3 years old.

I would like to know your opinion on the following situations;

I was suspended on my Amazon account about 2 years ago (both buyer and seller), however, just the other month I created a new Amazon buyer account with the same exact information as before..everything is fine.

I was wondering if I should try to create a Professional Amazon Seller account & use a EIN instead of my SSN, that way they won't get my SSN.

What information can Amazon exactly see? Thanks!

Any information that is similar you will be linked on a seller account. Buyer accounts the restrictions are less stringent as amazon have very little to loose. Just out of interest why were you suspended.

What they can see with an EIN depends on how you applied. If you applied as an individual, like if you were hiring household help, then the IRS with verify that YOUR NAME matches the EIN. If applying for a business (Corporation or LLC) then they will verify that the BUSINESS NAME matches the EIN. For further clarification see the section on the IRS website that relates to EIN's and search for the term "disregarded entity".

I lost both my seller & buyer accounts at the same time because I tried contacting Amazon Support about my Kindle Fire that was broken & I assume they thought I was trying to get a free product.

This was over 2 1/2 years ago..it wasn't for selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or anything in that nature.

Wait a sec... I understand the NAME may be the same, but the address IS different, right? Because if you used all of the same information as before, or if you are using the same IP, then it will take Amazon all of 2 seconds to link the accounts.

I thought your main question was, what can Amazon see from the information that you give to the IRS and the answer is they cannot. The IRS only returns a code of MATCH or NO MATCH, they do not correct or verify any other information.

To which address are tax papers mailed to? The address you used to sign up with the EIN or the address you have on Amazon?
