Everyone on the same boat as you are, but your boat is about to sink. Have you try entropay? Change your credit card address?

Cashplus? It's a pre paid credit card.

Just get a debit card attached to the bank account, simple.

Won't Amazon run a AVS check and the address won't match?

So do I. But I would not waste a post with info about another country.

Why did you?

So has anyone tried micky's method? Almost every UK website that takes card payments runs and avs check and I'd be very very surprised if Amazon did not.

Not saying it's not true, as I really hope it is.

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

Barry, Amazon will run a AVS check, but its how they set the parameters depends on the success of the charge. And yes it works.

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

I know you can change the name but postcode and house number are included in an avs check. Which would surely link you? Am I missing something here?

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

It would link you Barry you're right.

You get a new bank card with each bank account you setup though, which means 1 for each new Amazon.

i.e.- When PayPal do an AVS check they only take the house number.....they do not look at postcode.

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

I think I get it in theory but an avs check always Compares the postcode and part of the address. Or else it's not an avs check.

So I could set up 5 new accounts and get 5 new cards but they will all have the same address number and postcode.

Unless Micky means

My address is
20 big street and postcode m250ht but enter
20 little street and m250ht which will pass the avs but fool Amazon?

That would Actually make sense as I've done that before when paying for advertising. But I always thought in a fresh account they'd link this.

(Mods might want to move this to the private area)

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

I can't see how it could link you.

From my understand the check either passes or fails. If it fails an error code is generated. Stating why it has failed. I don't think the actual card holder details are sent back. Am I wrong?

Callidus 06-22-2015 11:40 AM

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

Nope, there is Pass, Partial Match and Fail.

Lots only use partial match as if you enter part of the address in the wrong box the check would always fail.

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

I was thinking it would link you becuase if you entered your postcode and house number then that is an exact location.

Surely if someone entered those details again then Amazon would relative this and link the account, if that's not the case then it's a really good find. But it's also one that would be very easy for Amazon to shut.

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

My thinking from what Micky said was you could enter any address details and as long as the charge could be made it would go through.

Who knows!

Re: Credit cards still working for UK??

Yes Freakzilla, that what I am saying. It has worked for me. As the charge is for on £1 or $1 I think that is the reason it has worked. I only use the house number and the first 2 digits of the post code then make the rest up. I have only done this with debit cards.
