I just received the message from Amazon. Is it worth to send them PS documents?

I AM ASSUMING THIS IS A STEALTH ACCOUNT?

I DO know that most passports have a verifiable number associated with them. Not every country participates and I do not know if Amazon verifies this number or not.

The rest would be fairly easy.

Hopefully, someone will chime in about the passport thing.

I didn't know this was happening in Canada. I knew Amazon had started doing this in the UK.

Has this happened to anyone else in Canada or the US? Can anyone shed some light on the passport issue?

Yes, please edit out the account name AND the reference ID.

Which marketplace is this for?

Did you get the message through seller central or e mail only. If e mail only could be a scam. If its real it should be in your notifications. If you google the number there a lot of mixed opinion.

Now there hitting Canada its any time soon they will hit United States with this . Im going to have to make 20 accounts and get them all grand fathered in before it becomes more stricter in the US

Also everybody knows a passport does not have an address attached to it!!!!

How will that help, this is already an account that is open. You will have to make 20 id's.....

I would be surprised if they did this in the U.S. With the 1099k laws they have already weeded out most of the Stealth/Ghost users. You have to go through allot to get a EIN to create new accounts. Otherwise it is 50 sales a year and done.

I won't say never but I doubt this will happen for US accounts. Plus most Americans don't have a Passport. So I would have a hard time seeing that requirement.

That's a good point, I'm sure they wouldn't make you apply for a passport to open up an Amazon Account

I find that I can't edit my post? The message I received from Email and Notification, so I may try to send them a bunch of PS documents. What is Reference ID btw?

No, they WON'T ask for passports specifically, but they COULD ask for Driver's Licenses. I'm not saying they WILL do this, but the possibility DOES exist.

The realm of possibilities are endless. Just based on the tedious work that needs to be done as a Ghost account in the US. I think it is unlikely. Like I said before they already basically weeded the majority of people out.
