Anyone use scraping software for their Amazon listings?

If so, what is it, where did you obtain it? And how effective is it?

Scraping software is used to mine Amazon for ASIN numbers.

Not shady at all. Simply a tool to obtain potential items for sale.

I've found individuals on 'people per hour' (in the UK) who have made me scrapers for supplier websites, never thought of scraping Amazon. I just assumed their systems would be so sophisticated, any scraper will quickly be kicked off.

Try sites like that and see if you can find anyone, be interesting to see if it actually works on Amazon's site though. Keep us posted.

There is an indian company who have a scraper for eBay so they may have it already for Amazon. Will try and find the link and post back

I have used scraping software before, both written by that Indian company and by others.

Like many things with Amazon, they have built in prohibitors that try to negate software running on their site to do this. Too, they change their internal system a lot so that any scraping software will be rendered useless in 3 to 6 months.

For as much money as Amazon makes on third party sellers, you would think they would spend a little less time booting people off and setting up such high walls of defense...

...but then again, there may be reasons they are doing this as well.

There is one forum that sells a lot of this software. They got good feedbacks and coaching too.

I have never tried though
