Re: Removing counterfeit competitors

So your goods have a brand name on them. Is this registered. If not how can you show its your brand. You said you have done a test purchase and was waiting for it to arrive. How do you know the products are "crap" if you have still not seen it.
DoL, friendly advice,I think you have a lot of work to do to get your business in order and protect your products, if not this will keep happening forever, and you cannot beat the Chinese.

Micky is right....you will NEVER stop the counterfeiters.

BUT, you CAN limit the avenues they sell it on. Making the ASIN restricted would severely limit their ability to sell copies of your work.

Cheers Buddy, but how can you restrict an ASIN if you don't own the intellectual property of that ASIN.

Honestly, I have no idea how that process works. I don't own any copyrights, thus I've never tried to restrict the ASIN.

I'm just pointing out that Amazon has safeguards like that in place, and that if the OP knows how, he can probably utilize them.

Re: Removing counterfeit competitors

I own the UPCs that are registered to the ASINs. I've been in talks with Amazon for days now and have the appropriate forms that I need to complete, along with listings of all my item UPCs.

But you are correct, I and everyone else cannot compete against the Chinese who will inevitably counterfeit everything we do. I sent out 20, literally 20, emails this morning to all the sellers selling my stuff. I've gotten replies from 17 of them telling me they've removed my items from their stores.

I guess that's better than nothing for the time being. I can already see a sales increase since doing this.

Good news, at least it going in the right direction. Become the owner of the intellectual property and life will be easier with amazon anyway.
The problem with Chinese sellers and they give me many problems also, knock one down and two more appear. Hopefully amazon will start deleting their account rather than suspending them.

You are absolutely right. If there in no intellectual property then it means nothing. Anyone an produce the same item and compete with you.
