Problems with EIN for Amazon.com (US)
 

Am having some problems with my EIN registration for two accounts, can't seem to figure it out.

Have been successful in the past using this system. Not working presently for at least these two.

I am obtaining an EIN from the IRS in the exact same name as my account.

Thus, my credit card name...let's say Bill Cole ... is the exact same name that I use as my company name for the IRS.

I make an LLC partnership where the team is husband and wife, and file as single member LLC.

Anyone see a problem here?

Could you please clarify if you get this problem on Amazon or IRS website? And what is the core of the problem in details?

Sure...

I sign up for the EIN, but it is not authenticating with the Amazon verification system. Right now, when you upgrade on the US Amazon.com selling site to a professional seller, you have to add your tax ID status. For those using something other than their own SSN, that means an EIN number.

...which I procured from the IRS site...but getting the EIN in the exact same name as the name that I sign up with. So, my business name and my credit card name are the exact same.

I am applying as an LLC partnership as a single member LLC.

But when I go to submit my verification, the Amazon site is saying that there are errors, that my EIN information doesn't jive with their records.

Never had this problem before.

Mine is doing the same thing, I think the IRS can take about 2 weeks after you get the EIN, to get it in the system and then it should work fine.

The EIN's don't update right away. You will need to give it a couple weeks like SM2015 mentioned.

Hi Mine wouldn't work yesterday (it has been 6 or 7 days) but today I tried and it worked, I had the same problem you had, so give yours a little time and it will get in the IRS system!

Absolutely - wait up to 14 days so the records could update.

I had a very strange issue with the real credit card for my name. It just started saying that this card is not valid and took my funds on hold, said it could not disburse because my credit card failed verification. Amz Technical department was not able to help. They see some error code and can't do nothing about this. Finally they said that I have to use another card. So I did.. With vanilla as a primary. And... It was solved in minutes. However the previous card worked for 1 year without any issues (for shopping). Now both cards work fine.

So the system could just have glitches. Always try different solution or just wait a little bit..
