Browser Fingerprints and Fonts

The guide informs me that Fonts are a big factor in your fingerprint. Am I understanding correctly that I need to go into Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Fonts (in windows) and Add/Remove a bunch of fonts? Does anyone know if this will add/remove fonts from my computer or from only this one user account?

Honestly as long as you don't have any unique/specific fonts installed, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I use freshly formatted laptops to run tons of accounts and I've never had linking with fonts/fingerprints since everything is bare bone stock.

Every computer is different. Reformat your computer with windows 7. Dont install any add ons. Dont use any monitors. Use English. You can try to not use flash or java but Im not sure if the site will run correctly.

Have several windows user accounts created . This will keep hidden cookies isolated to each account. Other than that, not much else you can do.

Keep a log of your IP addresses with the names of the accounts each one used. Make sure you dont accidently use the same IP with a different account. It only takes a milisecond for them to match you up and link you.
Never log onto a different account in a different user account unless you are using a different browser. Even then, try not to do that

Reformating is not an option right now. I'm wondering whether a new user account has its' own vanilla font selection. Or do windows accounts share it? Anyone know?

There is the same standard set of fonts for every copy of windows.

I didn't phrase my question right. I meant, if I change fonts under one user account, does it change selection for other accounts or does each new account get a vanilla selection that comes from Windows?

I guess I'll need to test it out when I get home.

No, it does not change the fonts on other user accounts

It would be better to rent a vps for every new account you create, makes it so much easier to keep track of too

Changing your windows user and IP is more than enough. Browser finger printing beyond that is not something you need to worry about,

Just tested it on my Windows laptop and wanted to provide an update for everyone.

The font settings seem to be universal across all users. So, yes, changing fonts under one, does actually change fonts for every user.

How important that is, of course, is another question.

If you want to see how unique your browser is, and some of what they can see about you, go to:

Ebay and Amazon would not put the resources towards matching fingerprints unless it was a case of high amount of money associated with fraud , theft, identity theft. Roughly your computer freshly formatted with windows 7 will match 1 in every 5 million computers without add ons, monitors, etc. They have no reason to waste resources matching up every user who logs on. Amazon has about 500,000 users logging on daily. Ebay, Im not sure. Amazon investigation department has better things to do than match and compare fingerprints unless it was a major deal. Amazon does have the software to track every mouse movement, every keystroke and all that but compiling, comparing is a waste of their manpower unless you just stole 10,000 dollars using several accounts. That they would probably put a person on to research

They basically research when a user files a complaint that somoene stole their credit card info or hacked into their account and bought items using that credit card.
