LLOYDS can be used for a stealth name. I never encountered a problem with mis-matched names. All Lloyds are interested as well as all other UK banks in is sort code and account number. BACS system which amazon payments uses credits your account with this information only.

Why is this bad advice, please explain. I look forward to the answer as Lloyds is like all other high street UK banks and uses BACS for credits from amazon. Wire/TT transfers are different but as amazon don't credit your funds this way its of no importance.

Mismatched names of any sort coming from Amazon or PayPal into a Lloyds account is doomed. I don't need to go into why, but personal experience based on the very issue of mismatched names caused a headache for nearly 6 months. Blocked funds, they also restrict any Halifax accounts you have as well, they want proof as to all income, a FULL page of explanation of why £ is coming in with different names, you will never be able to bank with either bank again. Oh and to top it off you'll be lucky to come out without a black mark on your credit file. Luckily I didn't get one.

I would add a load more information but this is the internet, I don't need to nor want to but I'm sure you'll be right again Micky

There has been plenty of reports on this forum about Lloyds being a huge problem for eBay/PayPal with mismatched names, never used them myself for that very reason. Still on my original Amazon account so just using normal non stealth bank account but am still 100% aware of how much of a problem Lloyds has been, anyone who has/is using them for stealth and not had big problems has just been extremely lucky.

Newer forum members should not be advised to start using them as they have much more than a normal chance if having major issues.

There is more to this sorry. I run stealth accounts with Lloyds and Halifax (part of Lloyds), even a USA and Japan amazon account and never encountered issues. The name is never checked on a BACS remittance.

Rosie, firstly this thread is about amazon, not paypal/ebay. If you have experience please comment other than rely on hearsay. Why are people lucky, please explain your experience to say this.

You have no idea what happened so you cannot say there is more to the story whatsoever.

You will have problems down the line with Lloyds, it's a ticking time bomb.

So there is more to the story.

I have banked with Lloyds for over 30 years and for amazon disbursements several years and never had a problem. It is impossible to have problem with BACS remittances if the account number and sort code are correct. Incorrect information submitted for a BACS payment and the payment will be returned automatically, not held by the receiving bank.

There's nothing more to the story - didn't you just see I wrote that above or you having issues reading?

We're not talking about wrong sort codes and account numbers were talking about mismatched names which they DO see, anyway you carry on. Doesn't bother me I'm just giving the OP correct advice.

Lloyds is bad, end.

Like you say "I don't know what happened" so there is more to the story.

Anyway, just google BACS and you will understand how it works and the computer code shared from BACS to the receiving bank. Each branch of any high street bank will receive thousands of inward funds daily via BACS. If the sort code and account number match there is no problem. A BACS payment typically take 3 days to credit your account, on the second day your bank branch can actually see funds that will in credit your account on the third day. The local branch has management over these transactions.

And if Lloyds was a problem why have more people not posted about this other than you.

AMAZON USE BACS TO CREDIT YOUR DISBURSEMENT. ALL MAJOR HIGH STREET BANKS AND BUILDING SOCIETIES WILL ACCEPT MISMATCHED NAMES.

Micky H ??? anyway Callidus it seems hard for you to accept the true facts of the UK banking system and that you seem to be an isolated case for one reason or another.
