Will I get customers on Amazon?

I want to sell on Amazon but I will start off with no feedback.

I cannot get feedback until I make some sales and I cannot imagine customers buying from me unless I have some good feedback already.

ebay seems easier to start off selling as you can easily get feedback just by buying things initially

What is your question?

Seriously, EVERY single account starts off as zero.

I can assure you one thing, IF you don't list anything, no one will buy from you.

If you are so insecure about it that you're afraid to list your first item because you have no feedback, there are services that provide feedback, for a fee.

Surely you still have to sell something for feedback to be left.

However if the guy is afraid to list items for sale as he thinks he won't sell anything then he may as well give up now. Great business plan.

Come on mega and be a man!, take the plunge and get listing, the thing about Amazon is you have to be a lot more competitive with prices that you do on eBay because Amazon will tell people and you if your prices are not in line with others.

This is one of the huge differences between the two sites, no one can say Amazon does not give people choice, they never miss an opportunity to advertise other people's products at the bottom of the page your item is on, but that can work in your favour as well. Like others have been saying get out there and give it a go, what have you got to lose!, feedback is not as important on Amazon as it is on eBay. Everyone knows buyers are less likely to leave feedback on Amazon, it has always been like that. You get longer to post your orders off as well.

I've actually found the opposite is true.

The only case where it ISN'T is that on eBay, if you have 95% positive feedback, you're more or less a leper, and on Amazon, that's average/pretty good.

90% is OK with me on AMAZON.
Just looked at all my competitors in a new industry I am breaking into. 80% is pretty average.

On ebay, I try to keep transaction high enough on bigger accounts that it hovers around 99.1-99.5% If it get higher than that I know I am not selling enough.

Re: Will I get customers on Amazon?

My accounts all have 100% positive feedback on Amazon, 100% of the time. ALL negative feedback is eventually removed by Amazon and I've noticed that I can mark-up products 15-35% above low price and still sell in volume. All due to feedback and a professional looking account (Names on my accounts are not "Joes College Fund")

Re: Will I get customers on Amazon?

Yea, I dont have 100% of amazon. Never have. But I get less than 1% feedback left.

you will get customers but you get stupid sellers who wil compete against you on price and fight with you on buy box

No, you won't. Dump your PC and go to Tibet.

If you won't start, you will not get buyers for sure. So stop whining and get back to selling!

Why are other sellers stupid who compete with you? This is called competition and everyone wants the buy box. If you don't buy low enough or greedy on margins you won't maintain the buy box.

ROSIE T, feedback is very important on amazon, bad feedback will get you suspended. Low feedback on new accounts will get your account put into review, rolling reserve or maybe suspension.

Oh I agree Micky, feedback can never be ignored, but it is something that Amazon buyers don't seem to see as so important to leave, partly maybe because sellers don't get the chance to leave feedback for buyers when they have paid up front in the same way as they can on eBay due to another of the major differences between the two sites.

Re: Will I get customers on Amazon?

Yes Rosie, feedback is very difficult to get on amazon. I would say its less that 5% of buyers actually leave feedback and 10% of those will be the assholes who want to leave a negative.

My opinion is I work hard sending emails to buyers to get feedback and once it gets to 1000 I just let it roll, but getting negatives removed obviously and maintaining 99-100%.

NOBODY LOOKS AT AMAZON FEEDBACK

They look for the lowest price in the condition they want. NEW: Lowest price. New open box: LOWEST PRICE.

I dont even look at EBAY feedback.

False. I've been selling on Amazon for over 5 years. I am NEVER the lowest price. I always aim to be the LAST seller on the first page. And I outsell most of my competition.

People who want LOW PRICE shop on eBay. Amazon customers go there for the excellent customer service and return policy.

Put it this way: eBay is the trailer park, and Amazon is the Hilton.

Re: Will I get customers on Amazon?

Well I must agree with GOA, but I sell FBA. I will be lowest priced FBA seller but there are sellers a lot cheaper than me and I sell 1000's.

However GOA, how do you know you outsell your competition.

So MAILQUEST you would by an Apple Mac of the lowest priced seller with no feedback, don't think so.

I add competitors products to my cart. When I see they only have 1 or 2 in stock, and I have 30 in stock, and I sell several of mine, and their listings are still active, I know I've outsold them.
