New info from the IRS
 

I hope this might help someone.

After 2 hours on hold with the IRS, they informed me that my LLC DOES show the company name and me as sole member. Amazon will see that.

Also, the state docs must match the IRS docs.

So. . . . I have to contact the state and get them to either change the name of me as sole member OR delete the name OR change to a multi member LLC.

THEN, fax proof of that to the IRS entity dept and they will fix it.

THEN, wait 14 days for the system to update for matching.

THEN, send the IRS a form 8821 showing that I am authorized to get information from the IRS on the account if needed in the future.

Geez. . . .

Amazon asks this one simple question.

Does "Business name you entered on amazon" match this tax number? and the IRS replies with a YES or a NO.

Any person CAN look up members, multiple or sole of an LLC. It is public records.

The only way to be truly a ghost is bearer shares shelved corps from WY or Trusts. Non of this matters in any circumstance to Amazon accounts.

On the WY corps that does not always work - there are "services" that go in and get all of the records and post the actual names of the owners online anyway. You have to go in, find them and opt out. I recommend googling your company name periodically just to be sure. Learned this from a friend. :heh:

bearer shares on shelved corporations are very expensive now. Very rarely needed and eventually will run out.

So you are saying on a NEW WY company you can opt out of being in state public record? As of now, WY is the only one who does not have a very simple public list but like you said, small fee lists exist and of course someone like merchant circle pulls and creates business pages for review etc..

Man. If youre that paranoid and going through all that with the IRS, TOO TOO much work.
Amazon doubtfully will check unless you give them a reason to.

Stop making waves with the IRS.

Question: Why do you want a pro account so badly?
I can think of the 40 a month unlimited is nice. If you send all your stuff to FBA that is nice. Other than that............

No you can't opt out but the former of the corporation and not you appears on a lot of stuff as the "organizer" so if you use a service it won't be your name out there. HOWEVER, those business info websites pull it all and put it out there so be on the lookout. Or so my friend told me!
