Be VERY CAREFUL if you hire anyone to post ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Amazon reviews. Amazon basically just sued everyone on Fiverr (over 1,000 defendants) for selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Amazon reviews. It is not too much of a stretch to think that Amazon will subpoena information during the court case to get the names of the sellers who bought the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ reviews, and close their accounts. I agree it is about time Amz did something to stop this. These people also leave negative feedbacks for other sellers and help to put people out of business. Isn't this what we are always hating Amz for...

Great news, fiverr is the land of the lowball I will work for 50 cents idiot, what did they expect, someone who carefully covered their tracks and made it believable? I don't agree with this practice in the first place, but running to fiverr for what is basically committing a crime, (more or less) is really stupid.

If you read the complaint, you will find they've already sued and won before against others who did the same thing.

It's like when people shillbid, it's fraud and completely illegal, driving up a price of an item.

I see someone in the UK got stung to the tune of £50,000 fine for shill bidding.

I don't see how leaving false reviews is any different..

How did they go about collecting the judgements?

It's not even as if it would be difficult to cover your tracks...use a stealth PayPal, send payment to another stealth, then buy items using PayPal, never transferring to a bank....

Collecting on a judgment is a joke for 99% of these reviewers.

It is a horse and pony show all in all and a good one.

They will never be able to stop ALL ⊗⊗⊗⊗ reviews. This is more for publicity than anything else. I somehow don't see the people selling this stuff for $5 on Fiverr being able to pay court judgments. The judgments will pretty much be uncollectable. Amazon just wants to use this to boost their image and warn others not to post ⊗⊗⊗⊗ reviews.

I don't think its actually a "crime"... Yes they can sue for damages, however A crime I don't think so....

It's a form of fraud which can be considered a crime. Also note the government has gone after these kinds of things in several different countries.

Not sure what grounds they can sue on. You can write whatever you want on the internet. What is the crime. t Prove the review is not true. True, there is a company collecting fees for reviews but prove the reviews are not correct. Prove that at one point in time, you didnt actually buy that product. A good lawyer would be able to defend against this. I think there is more to it behind the scenes. Amazon is not worried about the money. They want the company to run out of money with lawyer fees. I just say I dont have the time to post a review on the internet so I hired a company to do it for me.

But yes, good reviews do shape buying trends. I do go off of reviews if I m not sure about a new item I want. Like amplifiers or stereos and such.
