Handling returns on Amazon

So, I started to jump in the Amazon selling world now. In spite of the stealth addresses on Ebay, I used to just send the customer a prepaid label through PDF to their email address, that way it will send it to MY address and not my stealth address.

What I want to know is, can you do this through Amazon? Can I email them a return label and send it to my address? That way it won't go to my stealth address?

I can print the label from anywhere by the way, it doesn't have to be at Amazon, I could print it from one of my paypal accts or stamps.com, as long as I can send them a prepaid label so it gets to my address.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Handling returns on Amazon

You cannot email anything to an Amazon customer. Everything goes through their system.

What I do is include a half-sheet in each package giving them an 800 number to call with any problems or concerns. That way I can deal with them directly instead of going through Amazon's system. Technically, it violates their rules but it rarely causes a problem.

Some people will not do this and will want to go through Amazon only. But this helps. You can also say through Amazon's system to just send it back to the return address on the mailing label.

I also have a PO Box address not associated with ANY account. If worse comes to worse, I just give them that.

So, you're saying that with your unused po box, u just write it within the Amazon message center? So if u have 2 accts and write in the message center in both accts, would it be linked?

can you email the customer a return label but you cannot email them directly, meaning you will not get their email address. you will get an email address provided my amazon for that order thats forwarded to the customer by amazon.

You can message a customer through amazon and attach you label to the email.

Ok, so you're saying I can email them a PDF file thru the Amazon system?

What if you used the same address from a dropshipper? I'm certain there others that use that same address for returns...would that be ok?

Nice, I guess if they asked a human to look into it, they probably wouldn't be able to know that the return label has the same po box throughout stealths. U think I could ask for their email address thru the messaging system? Or is it like eBay where they prevent the email message being sent?

just don't do it on amazon, u can ask but its blocked out as with eBay but also amazon is 1000 times more strict than eBay when it comes to stuff like that.

I suggest u get a UPS box for your returns. Its a lot easier to manage it that way.

That's the thing tho, I already have a po box, just need to find a way to send them a prepaid label so that it doesn't go to my stealth address. As long as I can send them the label through the messaging system, that's all good. I hope I'm not missing anything. Thanks for all the help. I see my first listing up already! Yay! As Elaine from Seinfeld used to say...money money money!

Basically, less than 1 in 1000 units I sell the customer requests a return. Do you really want faulty items back. I just refund the customer and say keep or dispose of the goods. But I am not selling high end high priced goods.
