Newbie with buyer account suspended, need some advice
 

Hello,

I was suspended by Amazon a few months ago. I waited a little bit and wife opened up an account... later got suspended as well. Recently another family member opened up an account (unrelated to me) and was banned just now.... I was not sure how they figure out the association, but after reading bits and pieces from the forum it looks like it was because they came to my house and ordered something from my computer (which was flagged).

I was chatting with TGMT² online and he recommends that I buy and read
Amazon Ghost.

Being in the tech field, I have an idea how they track me (hindsight is 20:20... which expect Amazon to be this sophisticated before randomly opening accounts)... So I think I burned two PCs, and most of my addresses (home, work, etc)...

I have an idea to use VPN/VM/clean PC etc, but looks like Amazon Ghost provides better ideas for stealth account creation.

My question is, since this is more gear towards seller (i just want ONE buyer account for occassional purchases), is it worth the buy? I have seen one posting stating something about getting the book but still got an account suspended.

Also this is the third account I got cancelled, will trying these 'some what legal' methods land me in deeper water with amazon?

I appreciate your help in this matter.

I should add.... After reading up all the forum post I am probably going to buy and read amazon ghost in the morning.

I think VPS seems to be the best solution for me since I can't change my IP address (or get a new ISP) and I want the ability to login from home and work. Using a linux based VPS seems to be the best. I am sure the book will teach me to choose, and if not I have you all the help me.

I do have a buyer question the book may not answer though. I 'burned' all my addresses so I don't think my problem now is accessing amazon (VPS seems like good option, I have VPN now from PIA), but rather to remain stealthy when purchasing and having the goods delivered... I am not sure if the book covers that, so maybe I can ask you all for some help?

Will definitely get the book by morning.

To be honest I am not sure..... I was terminated for 'association' with some who got their account closed.. and then the wife, then another family member... I wasn't using AZ for selling and rarely buy from them so I didn't care. Situation changed and now making some purchase from AZ is desirable (I can still do brick and mortar store so things are not THAT bad).

but if I can setup an stealth account for purchase it still helps me...

I am not trying to hide anything... I did ask AZ for reasons in the past but never got a straight answer. I am sure I (or someone from the family who had an account) did somethig bad... I just never quite figure out what it is...

sorry if it still sound fishy... but really that's all I got.....

I should add: My ebay account works fine... so I can't be that bad, right? (Not sure)

Sorry... also did not see this rule in the FAQ:

7. We generally do not cater to buyer issues. This forum is dedicated to sellers and to stay on topic we may from time to time remove buyer related issues.

Ive had my seller account suspended and that same account used for buying was up and running.
For them to be banning ALL buyer accounts is pretty severe. There is something you are leaving out but that is beside the point.
Ill shoot you an email on how to set up a buyer account without any issues.

Honestly I don't htink I left something out I agree with your skepticism. If I was in your shoes I would as well

A new physical address is going to be an issue, but I am sure I can work around it somehow.

sitll going to buy the book though... if anything to thanks the folks here for allowing a buyer to post a question and get answers.

PO Box, UPS store, mailbox place...they are everywhere. Great for getting stealthy packages. Good luck!

I am also in need of a buyer account and just had a few questions, wondering if you could help me. I changed the billing address on my credit card, got PIA for my VPN, and then got foxy proxy for my browser to clear all my flash cookies, should I be good to get a buyer account?

New laptop , new router , new isp , new name ,bank ,etc make everything new you are good to go

You don't need a new laptop, new user account on your laptop is fine. Your router is OK as MAC is not tracked. You don't need a need a new ISP, just different IP.
New e mail
New Phone No.
New Address
New Bank
New Credit Card

is it best to use virtual credit cards or prepaid.. also the same question for bank accounts?

Bank accounts are best handled with a real bank account.

VCC vs prepaid is up for debate - whichever passes AVS checks is fine
