Debit vs credit card for Amazon UK business acct verification
 

I am trying to open business account in the uk through the ltd company way
Ok i know that any REAL credit card from any country will work on Amazon as long as house number and zip code match the ones on the billing address...and it will work even if the billing address is different than the stealth business address entered in amazon...is that correct?

I tried to look for debit cards info in the forum and unfortunately i got more confused as i saw conflicting posts...i saw some posts saying that the debit card bank address must match the stealth business address entered in Amazon...so if the stealth business address is uk address and debit card address is from another country the card will be rejected? Others again say that it just needs to match the bank address...so anyone with first hand experience could please shed some light on this?

Postcode and house number need to match but your bank issued card won't pass the check.

Also, any card you buy needs to have funds on as they charge £1 on each disbursement plus charge £1 when you add the card to Amazon

In the UK, street address and post code are the same thing so, afaik, all the address has to match.

Actually i always wondered how AVS verification works for UK since the zip code contains a mixture of numbers/letters...for US address it is easy to understand all the vcc has to match is the house number and the 5-digit zip code...for Thailand it would be very similar because zip codes here have 5 digits too...but how does that work for UK? The vcc has to match house number and the 6-7 character zip code?

It depends on the AVS system being used

It can either door number and digits in postcode or door number and charters and digits in the postcode.

Amazon use as all AVS systems

House Number
Full Postal Code

Amazon don't use the 3 digits on the back of the card.

However from my experience if only 1 match it will pass for verification as the amount is only £1

The post code is a code for 1 street, not a town like in the US. Sometimes the code designates even a specific house.

Another thing I have come across is when you add an AVS card that doesn't match the address on the Amazon account it will go through and pass the verification but before you start taking money to disburse you will need to add one that matches OR a card that bypasses AVS - there's only 1 that works currently that doesn't need AVS ;)

What does this mean? You mean that if i set up an amazon account using a UK address and later on i try to add a Thai real credit card but with thai address it will not work?

I have no idea where you have just pulled that comment from.

I'm just saying an AVS card will work if number of house & postcode match the billing address. However, easily can buy physical cards that are like Entropay and bypass it. There is only 1 out there that does ;)

Ok ok i misunderstood
When you wrote "doesnt match the address on the amazon account" thought you meant the address used to set up the amazon account...now understood...you meant the address that you enter in amazon for card verification :doh:
