MAC address
 

Can anyone show me a website that shows me my MAC address? Similar to how we have hundreds of websites that can show me my IP address, where is the one to show me my MAC address? I am curious to know if a website does indeed record/view my MAC (Media Access Control) address. As far as I know, your MAC address belongs to my router, which identifies the manufacturer, meaning that there are groups of people with the same MAC address. And the MAC address can be easily changed with a free program such as TMAC v.6, it would be fruitless for websites to track you via your MAC address, if they even do so to begin with (Amazon, PayPal, eBay, etc).

I believe the real focus should be towards what's actually being used to track you, such as your WebRTC (Real Time Communication). If you don't disable this in your browser, your proxy, vpn, whatever will not help, because your real IP will still show. Most major websites are script rich when they display their pages on your browser, so most definitely are using WebRTC to see where you'r really come from. is a good site to check what you're leaking out.

Hi, it's been well established now that you don't have to worry about changing your MAC address websites can't see it

Now you have me all confused 123. I am fighting like hell to try and understand all the things I need to do and on page 12 of Ghost it says we must change the mac address as it is tracked by Amazon. Is this outdated?

Yeah thats a bit outdated it was later found out that you dont have to worry about mac address, websites cant see that information without installing software on your computer etc

They really really need to update Ghost. To actually sell it as a product (which I bought) only to have loads of info which is not needed and outdated isnt very good to be honest.

I wasted so much time with all the MAC crap.

That's why its also important to read the forums, but majority of the stuff on ghost is golden. So you still get alot of value out of it, just should also supplement it with the forums.

Yeah totally. Sadly I bought ghost and followed step by step waaaay before I found the forums.

for MAC its pretty simply to change, BUT a question...online you can check your IP address via many websites, you can check your screen resolution...BUT is there any website can check your MAC address?!! Nope there is not!!
therefor NOone can track your MAC ( Unless ) you install them software..if you will do that at that moment they can take everything even your boxer size :)

Yep, that is me, and I am still not set up yet. Aspkin, can we get an update on this, frustrating to have just bought it and as we stumble through it find out here that it is not accurate. Thanks :)
