Selling the same item on different accounts
 

Hi,

Im planning to sell the same item on two different accounts with a custom brand name, which is not already on amazon. Will this work if I use different images and description , or will I be linked ?

Add more different items that is not listed on the other account to reduce the risk of being linked.

What ratio is this item being sold in compared to other items unique to each account?

The fact that this is a custom brand automatically makes it a lot easier for Amazon to link you by item

Explain how that works?

Two items, same brand name, possibly on stealth accounts... Amazon will flag this.

Yes lots of the same type of product I'm selling but the brand name would be the same on both accounts and this brand name does not exist on Amazon...

Well roughly I plan to sell around 10 items on stealth A, to 1 item on stealth B

How would it be if I sell it on stealth a normally and maybe 2 month later on stealth b normally does that make any difference .?

Is there really a need to sell it on 2 accounts?

I would just play it safe and stick to 1 account

All I am going to say is amazon looks for similarities.

This is recommendable as James stated and you can stamp/watermark the photos to keep it as your own...unless you are involved in brand infringement OP (just saying)...

If you are the only seller on that particular ASIN, don't risk running it through two accounts. It's not worth it. If the ASIN was sold by 5-10 other sellers, you would be ok.
If you are the only seller, there is no gain to putting it into two accts.

I was actually planning to use a different UPC code for each account so that it would create different ASIN ?

You can do this as follows:

Open a main account, list all the products.

Open a 2nd account, list on other listings, then wait a bit and add some of those items you want to list. It should be fine.

exactly.
let's say, many sellers sell apple ipad on amazon, and those sellers catagory are very similar ( i checked). amazon can not shut them down.

i do that all the time, never had any problems ! 5 years going strong !

I would definitely be careful if listing the same ASINS, as a safe bet I wouldnt list more than 45% of the same asins on a new account. It listings asins where you are the only seller I would cap it closer to 35%.
