Amazon tax interview (moving to business from personal account)
 

I had an Amazon account that was cancelled due to some bad customer service (my fault, I didn't exactly know how to contact customers as it was on Ebay).
I created an Amazon account with all legit information under my mother's name (I'm using a different computer with different IP address, different email and phone number too). The problem is that the bank account and credit card (really a debit card) associated with the account are under her name. I thought I would change that after the account is established but it's been a little over a month and now they are asking me for a tax interview. I wouldn't mind to be able to change it form personal to business and be able to sell more. Can anyone advise on steps to follow? I've been selling pretty good and now I'm, kind of stuck not knowing what to do. Don't want to kill the account by accident and I don't want to cause her any trouble (she's trying to get state help based on low income)

Sounds like you need to form an LLC within your state.

Once you form an LLC you'll have a company name

You then go to the IRS page and apply for an EIN with the LLC information

Once you receive the EIN, wait a few weeks before adding it to Amazon

Make sure the company name you provide amazon matches with the company name you provided to form the LLC and provided the IRS.

Any mismatching characters and they will deny the information

I have the same issue and I don't see how forming a LLC would work. On Amazon if your a sole proprietor with a LLC thats what you have to choose and it still forces you to put your name in.
