What is Amazonaws?
 

No, that isn't typo. I recently installed NoScript for Firefox, and I keep getting notifications that s3.amazonaws.com is being blocked.

What the heck is this, and is it related to Amazon.com?

(Note these messages are appearing on sites not at all related to Amazon)

It's Amazon services.. it's their servers that host the internet.

A lot of CDNs, small web host, VPN services, VPS, anything really host off of Amazon.

Most likely whats being blocked are advertising and tracking done by 3rd parties.

Do you use Amazon Web Services for any of your stuff? Hosting or whatever? Any idea what Amazon can access? For example: The people who use VPN's for general privacy (not stealth), can Amazon, in theory, access that data?

Amazon COULD look into your AWS account and see what you're doing.. but do they? Probably not. Not unless you're abusing their terms of service. As long as you don't cause any attention, you could get away with using their services.

I see a lot of people using AWS for VPNs for their stealth accounts. I don't personally use AWS. There are alternatives.

Thanks for the info. Is there a way to see which VPN's do and don't use AWS BEFORE making a purchase?

A whole bunch of these have poped up over the past two years for different services. Brothers printers for example

I am guessing some sort of search engine catches it and these accounts are created just to answer questions on forums.
