Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

I know replying to ebay messages via gmail (with all stealth tips followed) is safe and does not cause linking between accounts.

Is this the same case for Amazon? or do you have to login to the amazon or email account and to respond safely?

I know Amazon are more stringent, so would they pick-up the IP from the senders email (which is possible)?

You have to turn off "show images" in the setttings

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

Yep, turn off show messages, personally i do this as soon as i make a new user account before hitting the web the first time (before going away from whatever browser your using home page)

So just to confirm, you guys have turned of external images, and responding to Amazon messages / viewing Amazon messages has been safe and not caused accounts to link?

always turn off images in email for any platform.

Avoid any chances of linking.

Of course, take all preventative measures into account - But can Amazon still link after that?

There are times when you have to contact seller performance directly through email I dont think you can do this through the "contact" logged into your account. Don't these cases created in "contact"always go to another department?

I try to never log into amazon and always reply to messages via Gmail. It really helps with response time as well.

I set all my gmail accounts up on a phone and tablet. Makes everything much much easier for me. I can reply from any place anytime.

I dont think this works as when you reply through gmail your ip address goto amazon server and if this ip is linked to suspended account they link your account with that so best to avoid

I thought the same. But Yankee is a reputable member of the forum. If he says its worked for him, I believe its worked for him

wrong and it has never been that way.

If it was that way, almost all the members on this forum would have linked amazon, ebay and paypal accounts.

In any case, just send the email form the same IP you use to login

Thats far from ideal and defeats the purpose of why we are doing this :(

Complete waste of time.

The whole point of reply from gmail is that it is safe and you do not have to login or worry about IPs etc...

yeh if you use same ip then its fine but I had issue in past where i logged in gmail from suspended ip address and replied to email within few minute account gone

Im calling BS or coincidence.

Gmail does not even work that way. Gmail shows a Google IP to the recipient.
Tons of threads over the years proving this.

Of not logging in....

The entire point of reply from an email is you can do it from any device from any place. Not logging in, changing IPs etc...

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

But why even take a chance? IP can be found by email sent. Amazon may not use it now in their database, but implement it in the future

Chance of what? What are you chancing?
You are wrong about how gmail works. How many years of proof does one need that it is safe? How many facts?

With this mentality, you better not use a VPN or a VPS or VM or tracphone. Why chance it?.....

Your comparing apples to oranges. Can an IP address be tracked through Gmail?

Yankee, I think what Kelly means is, can you find an IP from an email exchange between sender and recipient, the answer to that is actually yes. This information is usually contained within an emails headers.

Kelly does have a point. If Amazon want to go the extra mile, they could 'easily' implement such feature which picks up the IP of email exchanges.

For whatever reason, ebay nor Amazon seem to have implemented this feature as of yet.

Interesting.

Everything I have read on this forum pretty much says that images and email itself will show from Google with gmail.

I guess we will know shortly with our little test.

Alright so me and Yankee did a quick test, GMAIL does actually conceal the senders IP which is fab for stealth users.

Be wary though, there are other providers who don't.

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

Gmail also hosts all images so beacons stop at google but I still turn images off when I create a new gmail. :)

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

I just did another test, so an example of an email provider who wont conceal your IP would be mail.com.

Like I said before, though this feature is not implemented by ebay nor amazon, doesn't mean to say they wont in the future, and it is very easy to pick up your location (pretty precise) + IP just from sending out an email. They could easily setup a system that vets the emails and keeps tabs on them.

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

Can you imagine if there was no gmail around, people would be running around like headless chickens trying to find the next email provider 'safe for use on ebay' - like they are doing with VCCs on Amazon

rsot 04-28-2016 08:33 PM

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

Disable images and beacons does the trick apparently. IP is irrelevant for the purpose of replying via e-mail

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

Gmail has for a while now routed emails through their own servers.

Most email companies have started to do the same thing in the last 12 months.

So long as you reply for the correct email account then you can reply to both Amazon and eBay messages directly though gmail.

yankee 04-29-2016 06:58 AM

Re: Replying to Amazon messages via GMAIL?

Good point James!

What you CAN NOT DO is forward all emails to a master email account and reply from that one. You will get a message saying that it is the wrong account and asking you to log in.

You must reply from the email account itself.

Key point, James' !

Users need to be paying attention to what activity they are do.

Or have to smash the laptop/PC in fright.
