Second amazon account
 

instead of installing a virtual machine and running a second account from there, is it not possible to set up a new profile (On an Apple mac) and change the MAC address from there?

Would amazon be able to trace you this way?

yes you can run a second account on a new profile, and don't need to worry about your mac adress, Amazon is unable to trace it. But you have to change IP address

Really? I thought in the Amazon Ghost manual it states that amazon can track:

Your computer MAC Address

&

Your routers MAC Address

No they cannot track MAC addresses billybluhat, just make sure as has been said that IP address is changed between accounts.

OK then, but why state it amazon stealth that they can track a mac address?

Slight inaccuracy in a book that is purely to help you remain stealth?!?

Things are changing all the time with stealth and it would not be practical to update the stealth books to fit in with the rate of those changes. Much better to to check in here regularly to read about any eBay/PayPal changes with as much advance notice of them as it is possible to get and also to be aware of potential workarounds for them.

OK, thanks.

So when Amazon Stealth was written amazon did track computer MAC addresses and Router MAC addresses - but now they don't bother? Why would they stop tracking these these two fundamental things which I'd imagine they suspended many accounts from using this information?

Is there a forum or here or a thread that confirms that (AMAZON) no longer track these ?

They cannot technicaly trace your mac address, i doubt that they ever been able to do that.
I think the writer of the book was caring about everything as it is the only way to not get linked again, but on this point and some other he was wrong.
You will find many threads about that on the forum. The book you bought is outdated since a long time now. Maybe they don't update it for people keep subscribe to the forum
