fba-product-compliance email

Hi all

Yesterday, I received a rather scary email from fba-product-compliance.

This is the message:

Quote:

Greetings from Amazon Seller Support.

Our Product Safety Department has contacted us regarding potential safety issues with ASIN xxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Customer reported this product to be dangerous. (Customer states that he xxxxxx has caused a chemical burn on the customer's arm. It has caused him immense pain.)

In order to investigate this report further, please provide
- feedback on the reported situation
- a possible explanation for the issues encountered
- an invoice to assure this is a genuine xxxx Product.

If we do not hear back from you within the next 48 hours, the ASIN in question might be removed from sale on Amazon.co.uk due to concern for our customers' safety.

Thank you for your cooperation.
I am in a product category where if you look at the reviews, every major seller has multiple reviews where customers are complaining of burns, allergic reaction etc. Just like some people are allergic to nuts, they still sell them on Amazon. I hope you see where I am going with this.

What is the likely outcome of this? How long does it take to get this kind of thing resolved? Is my account at risk?

I've always thought having my business on Amazon is like building something on quicksand. You never know what will happen, however honest you try to be.

Thanks,

Dave

You must at least respond as they stated.

What is the time frame now?

Are you still in the grace period?

Yes, I agree. I replied yesterday with a 14 page reply.

By grace period, do you mean the 48 hours in which they said I must reply? If so, I replied in plenty of time.

On each sale, we email frequently asked questions and safety instructions. A very small percentage of people can get an allergic reaction. It is not unique to our product, but to all product in this category.

I am not sure how these kinds of things are reviewed by Amazon. Whether they just guillotine you, your account or your product, regardless of what you say.

We have sold over 6,000 units of this product in the last year. No one has actually made an official complaint to Amazon during that period until this case.

Am I a gonner?

Re: fba-product-compliance email

Just to report that Amazon have now informed me they have no further concerns and the ASIN was reinstated.
