Error Your application to register as a merchant on amazon has been declined. Our re

I received this message upon setting up a fresh Amazon seller account and completing tax interview and phone call verification:

"Error
Your application to register as a merchant on amazon has been declined. Our review is a proprietary process, and we cannot share the reasons for failed applications, nor the criteria by which applications are evaluated."

What are some possible causes of this? I don't think I have filled out the tax info for Amazon before or atleast in the "wizard" they're now using, not sure if I made a mistake, maybe that's what they're rejecting or are they linking me to a previously suspended account? What's likely going on here? Account linking? Problem with tax info? Payment method problem? It's been a couple hours and I never received an e-mail from Amazon about account linking.

Also, does Amazon link tax and/or bank account info? I had my original account suspended years ago for no good reason and then registered a new one in a different account name but using my personal banking info and the account worked for much of 2014 until it finally got suspended (December 2014) because they said I was not shipping when labels were printed (no customer complaints). In retrospect, I'm aware that printing the shipping labels and waiting until the next day to ship was a mistake but it's surprising how long the account lasted and I didn't have to worry about mixing my IP address with other banned accounts.

Oh dear.... You missed a most serious change with amazon.

From late 2013, it not longer became OK to reuse the same bank accoumts/details.

If you reused banned info, you sadly created a link.

For the future, keep this in mind....

amazon look for similarities! {}%^#%} Reusing old banned info is a big similarity.

what's wrong" Your listings have been confirmed to be in violation of policy

my account hasn't update any listings, but, i got this message from amazon. and my account was suspended. does anyone know what's wrong?

Your listings have been confirmed to be in violation of our listing policies. As a result, you may no longer sell on Amazon.com, and your listings have been removed from our site.

Please ship any open orders. If you have funds in your account, they will be available after any amounts paid for A-to-Z claims or chargebacks have been deducted. This usually takes about 90 days, but funds may be held longer.

You can see your balance and settlement information in the Payments section of Seller Central. If you have questions about those, please send an email to payments-funds@amazon.com.

If you want to appeal this decision, click the Appeal button next to this message on the Performance Notifications page in Seller Central (

EDIT:
I didn't reuse banking info this most recent time. It didn't even ask for banking info. Just tax info.
On a separate note, the account I had working for much of 2014 (registered in 2014) used the same banking info as the original account Amazon suspended, not sure why they didn't link the accounts. In the end, the 2014 account was NOT suspended due to an account link.

Same principle.

Stealth is ALWAYS brand new info.

Ideally yes, but I'm still trying to understand why they're not linking accounts at times as described above and whether they have linked my account in the most recent case or simply rejected my registration for some other reason.

Amazon can be a beast to analyze - the safe assumption is to work on the premise that linking has occurred. Their info is always "proprietary"...

"This message is to inform you that we have closed your Amazon.com account.

We have taken this action because we found this account to be related to previously closed accounts. In addition, all open orders have been cancelled.

We are unable to discuss other accounts with you but please contact us should you have any other questions; we'd be glad to assist you."

How exactly does Amazon link buyer accounts and how do I get around it while still getting orders delivered to my house?

there you go
