Amazon UK LTD company to sole trader
 

Does anyone who is familiar with Amazon UK know whether it is possible to change my Amazon account from an LTD company to a sole trader status?

I know its possible to do it the other way around but let me know your thoughts guys..

Don't think it's possible as it's different entity
Even if you try u may loose your account

I know paypal does not allow at all

what would happen if I asked the verification team whether it is possible?

or is this too risky?

E-mail them from a different email address so you can't get linked.

An email thats not registered to an account will bounce back I think though..

Does anyone know any way to do this or maybe post in the Uk Amazon forums?

Surely you can change the entity of your business outside of Amazon at anytime anyway, just tell them you made your LTD dormant and now you trade as a sole trader and the entity needs to be updated on Amazon to match this.

Shouldn't be hard

Even if you ask them how to change account types from Ltd to sole trader they will suspend you account I heard from many users they do this so be careful

Legally it's not possible as Ltd company is entity and this account belong to that company if you desolved this company account needs to close aswell even you can't chnage company nunber on amazon they will not allow as this account belongs to that company

Try to see yourself and update us

From a legal and company formation perspective, that point seems right on the money.

A sole trader and limited company are treated completely differently from a legal perspective, so it makes sense for Amazon to do the same.

Thats true but why can't the sole trader act as the nominee for the company?

I know its possible to change from sole trader to a company so why is the opposite not possible?

i tried to change from sole to limited after Amazon said it would be ok after re-verifying new details, once it was processing they said it cant be done any more and verification failed, they then blocked my account and said open a new one.

opened a new one and its automatically blocked, now no accounts and no support :(

Yeah i wish i knew this before as now i don't have access to anything and no seller account, all because i wanted to go limited, still cant find a solution.

open a new account with the new company without closing the old account. slowly transfer items over the years.
